"Sad stuff makes beautiful poetry, but it's not so pretty to live with." [-Merecat]

(I recommend anything beyond 'Tumbling Ash' for the rest is a mess of nonsense words that hold no character, no story and absently fill the page)

76. Misunderstood Fangirls

Why do people constantly criticise and snap at teenagers in love with a particular thing?

Do they forget that we,

the lowely adolescents of this world, do contain emotions beside boredom and

Are they unaware that what we deeply love

ties together strings between other people, replacing

those broken by the bonds of family?

That these passions,

these miniature obsessions that cause intense states of nausea or cause

trembles that shatter hearts in waves of care,

are what paints the smile on our faces?

I do not care for the daily meal discussions spat over dinner

as we try to become a family,

just my sister, my mother and I whilst my step-dad works and my Dad

is warm within the belly of another home.

It isn't adolescence that carves our harsh emotions and darkens

our souls but the fact that our interests

are looked down upon.

These things that we treasure like keepsakes within a locket are just

meant to drift with the wind of time.

When your daughter is huddled in the darkest corner of her room,

breathing like her lungs are deflated balloons popped at a party,

and she is crying like the rims of her eyes are the plunging drops of cascading waterfalls,

do not tell me that is because of a phase.

That is because of a connection.

An invisible line that tugs hearts and leaves people breathless with joy,

that brushes away boredom with a sense of disgust and

knows no boundaries of to how incredible

this single thread can be.

So teenagers that fangirl are not dumb or immature or obsessed,

they are connected,

they are happy,

and that is all anyone could ever ask for.
