Running Into You...Literally

Taylor Roth is not usually one for winter sports. But when her best friend Kaeli drags her on a skiing trip, she can't say that in the end she was disappointed. She literally runs into none other than Calum Hood from 5 Seconds Of Summer. She easily keeps her cool in front of the dreamy boy that she has only seen in posters. But what will happen when Calum falls for her? They live in two different worlds, Calum in the beautiful Australia, and Taylor in the dreaded Ohio. See how things work out in... "Running Into You... Literally."

10. What a Surprise

Tay's POV:

I groaned, getting impatient. I was still in the hospital, waiting for the doctor to come back with the results from the x-ray.

"Calum?" I called out. "Yes, my dear?" He asked, looking up from his phone. "How long have we been waiting for the doctor?" I asked, running my hands down my face.

Calum laughed. "It's only been about 15 minutes, Taylor. Be patient, I'm sure the doctor will be back soon.

As soon as Calum finished his sentence, the doctor walked into the room with a stack of papers in his hand.

"Alright Taylor, we've got your results. And I also have some good news and bad news for you. Which would you like to hear first?" He asked.

I sighed, closing my eyes. "I could really use some good news right now."

The doctor smiled, holding up his piece of paper. "Well, the results show that you have a mild concussion, and slight bruising to the back of the head. But, results as mild as that mean that you will be free to go by the end of the day today." He smiled.

I smiled in return. "While that's great and all, what's the bad news?" I asked, bracing myself.

"Well, the bad news is that you will not be able to travel outside of the country for at least a week." He said, reading through his papers.

I choked on my spit. "A week?!" I repeated, unable to comprehend what I was just told. "That's correct, well...let me reword myself. You may travel out of the country, but only by car, or train, not by plane. There is a huge risk with your mild concussion, flying in a plane could mess with your head in strange ways, it's better if you don't go up in the sky." He chuckled to himself, as he walked out of the room, leaving the boys and I alone again.

"Well this is just great. What am I going to do?" I asked, to no one in particular."Well, we leave for our next spot tomorrow, which is Cuba. We are traveling by bus, so you can come with us." Ashton said, a hint of hope in his voice.

"Well, yeah, I could do that. But what am I going to tell my parents? I can't just subtly stay at "Kaeli's" for a whole week! And what about school?" My eyes started to sting, I was overworking myself.

As if on cue, my phone started ringing. It was my mom. I cleared my throat, answering the phone.

"Hello?" My voice cracked. "Well...what do you have to say for yourself?" My mother spoke. 'What?" I asked, confused. "You didn't think we would find out?" My father chimed in. " know." I whispered.

"Of course we know your in Mexico!" They said in unison. "How did you find out?" I asked. "Kaeli cracked. We asked her a few times what you guys were doing and she eventually caved in, telling us where you actually were." My mom said. I rolled my eyes. "Also, you do know that when you try to call someone that's out of the country, our phones notify us that we're making an international call." my dad said, quietly laughing to himself.

"I am so, so sorry guys. Calum really needed me, and Ashton offered to fly me out here, for free. So I took the chance. Are you mad?" I squinted my eyes shut, not wanting to hear the answer.

"Honestly, we aren't as mad as you would think..." My father said. "Just a little disappointed that you lied. But there is a reason that we aren't as mad as we normally would be."

"And what is that reason?" I asked, getting curious. "We got a call from your school earlier this morning...they said with how stellar you have been doing, and the fact that you already have enough credits, they are allowing you to graduate a whole semester early!" My mom exclaimed.

My heart skipped a beat."Wait, are you serious? I can't believe this!" I half yelled, getting excited. "We are 100% serious! But the thing is, graduation will be in about a month and a half, only about 15 students get to graduate early, so the ceremony will be small. This also means that you will need to stay on top of your work, one failure on anything, could completely ruin it, got it?"

"Got it." I repeated back. "Good, so when will you be coming home?" My mom asked. "Umm...well, long story short, I fell down, got a mild concussion, and now I'm not allowed to leave the country by plane for a I'll be with the boys for another week, and I'll be flying home from Cuba." I said, all in one breath.

"Oh boy. Are you alright?" My dad asked. I nodded my head, although he couldn't see me. " Yeah I'm completely fine." My parents sighed. "Well, I guess until you can get back home, we'll just have your teachers email you your work so you can keep up with it, okay?" I smiled. "Okay."

"Great. Well, we have to go. Rest up Tay, alright? We'll see you in a week." My dad said, obviously wanting to end the call. "Alright, love you guys." "We love you too, bye." "Bye!" And with that, we ended the call.

I let out a sigh, looking at the boys. The one thing I noticed was how big they were all smiling. "Why are you guys smiling like that?" I asked. "We are so proud of you. For being able to do so well in school, to the point where you can graduate early." Michael said. The other boys nodded their heads. "I am also extremely happy because I get to spend more time with you for another week, and since you're graduating early, you can join us for the last couple months of the tour!" Calum said, leaning down, kissing my forehead.

"Oh, yeah, that's right!" I said, getting excited. "The thing is, though, I'll be getting a lot of school work for the next week, so I might need some help, so I can stay on top of it all." I said, seriously. "We'll be with you every step of the way." Luke said. I smiled at them.

"As of now, we're going out to eat tonight to celebrate your accomplishment!" Calum exclaimed, making me blush. "You guys are the best." I said, trying to hide my blushing, although it wasn't working.

Three hours later, I was released from the hospital. The first thing we did was go to the mall so I could pick out a few more outfits for the next week. It was strange shopping for summer clothes, when back home it was the middle of winter, but that didn't matter.

The boys picked out a beautiful dress for me to wear to dinner for tonight. To my surprise, they had rented out an entire steakhouse, just for us.

"You guys didn't have to do this for me." I said, unable to wipe the smile from my face. "You deserve it Taylor." Ashton said, putting an arm around my waist, which ended in him earning a glare from Calum.

I laughed, walking over to Calum. "Don't worry, you're mine, and only mine." I whispered into his ear, making the hairs on his arms stand up.

"God, I am so lucky to have you." He whispered back, planting a passionate kiss on my lips. "Alright, love birds. Save it for the hotel room in Cuba tomorrow." Michael groaned, causing Calum to blush, and me to hide my head in Cal's chest.

Everything was turning around, all for the good.
