7. Chapter 7: Cuddle Closer

Tay's POV:

After a boring eight hour flight, we finally landed in Mexico. I got off of the plane and made my way to the luggage claim. I quickly found my bag, and I walked over to the lobby to find my ride.

That's when I realized something. Ashton never told me who was picking me up. Just as I was about to pull out my phone and call Ashton, I heard a very familiar voice coming from behind me.

"TAYLOR!" The person screamed. I turned around and saw Ashton, in full disguise of course, running right towards me.

He jumped at me, forcing the both of us to fly backwards. Once I hit the ground, I looked up at Ashton. "Well hello to you too." I groaned.

He jumped up from the ground, obviously unharmed, and then he helped me up.

"Ready to go see Calum?" He grinned. I nodded enthusiastically while following him out of the airport, towards a rental car.

I got into the passenger side, Ashton getting into the drivers side. He started the car and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Ok, so here's the plan..." He started. "We are going to get to the area where the tour bus is parked. We're going to walk in as quietly as possible. Calum will probably be in the lounge area playing on his guitar, because that's all he's been doing recently. His back is usually facing the door, so it will be easy for you to sneak up on him. You can do whatever you want when we get in there, scare him, hug him, whatever, sound good?" Ashton asked.

I smiled. "Sounds great."

About 20 minutes later, the tour bus came into sight. We got out of the car, and Ashton grabbed my bag so I could have a "hands free" surprise.

I walked up to the bus and quietly opened the door. As soon as I walked in, Michael started getting all jumpy. I shushed him, trying not to blow the surprise.

Michael finally calmed down and showed me the way to the lounge area. Sure enough, Calum was playing on his guitar with his back towards the door.

My plan was to signal Luke when I was ready, he would call Calum, then Calum would stand up and turn around, and SURPRISE, there's his girlfriend.

It's full proof...hopefully.

I walked up behind him and watched him play his guitar. He was in the midst of writing a new song.

After a few seconds of creepily watching him, I signaled Luke, who was in the other room.

"Calum! Can you come here please!" He yelled. That was my cue to get into position. Calum groaned. "Coming Luke!" He replied.

He set down his guitar and stood up from his spot. He turned around and froze on the spot.

"SURPRISE!" I shouted.

"Oh my god. Taylor?" He asked. I just nodded my head and smiled.

His confused expression slowly turned into an ear-to-ear grin.

Without saying another word, he grabbed me and pulled me into the tightest hug imaginable, lifting me off of my feet.

I wrapped my legs around his torso and buried my head into his chest. I laughed as he spun me around in circles.

Eventually, I leaned back to look at Calum, still in his arms. He smiled before finally speaking up.

"I thought you going to California?" He asked. I laughed. "Well if I would've told you where I was actually going, it would've ruined the surprise, not wouldn't it have?"

He laughed while lightly pressing his lips to mine. After a second, Micheal groaned. "Get a room!" He shouted.

I laughed while pulling back out of Calum's grasp.

"So," I started. "I'm only here for a couple of days. What are our plans?" I asked to no one in particular.

Luke shrugged. "We could go bowling?" He suggested. I shook my head. "No, I have too bad of jet lag to do anything active.

"We could go get ice cream!" Ashton shouted. "I'm lactose intolerant." I pointed out, while literally pointing at him.

"How about a movie?" Calum asked. I shrugged. "Ehh, too easy to fall asleep to."

That's when Michael spoke up. "Video games!" He half-shouted. I smiled. "Brilliant!" I exclaimed.

And playing video games is just what the five of us did for the next four and a half hours. We played everything from Minecraft, to Call of Duty.

After endless hours of mindlessly staring at a screen, we decided that if we were going to do anything productive tomorrow, then we would have to get some sleep.

I stood up from my spot on the tiny bus couch and yawned. "So Cal, where am I sleeping?" I asked. "With me, of course." He said matter-of-factly.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "In that tiny bed?" I asked pointing to the top bunk that Calum claimed as his.

He chuckled. "Hey, I know it's tight fitting, but look at the bright side, this means we get to cuddle closer." He smirked while pulling me to him by the waist.

Like groaned. "You two need to stop being all lovey-dovey. Please remember to shut the curtain before you two start making out or whatever you two do." He said while climbing into his bunk.

I laughed as Calum hoisted me up into his bunk. I rolled up against the wall, and Calum climbed in right next to me, shutting the curtain behind him.

Within seconds, all of the boys were in bed, and all of the lights were off on the bus. It was completely silent besides the noise of the crickets outside.

I traced small circles on Calum's chest as I started to fall asleep. But one thing was for sure, we were definitely cuddling closer than ever before.
