I Won't Speak

A suitcase. A mystery. A popstar. A selective mute. And a friendship everlasting.

1. Chapter One: The Suitcase

Louis Tomlinson frowned slightly as he entered his hotel room. He glanced at his black suitcase, sitting on the floor next to his bed, right where he had left it. The bedroom was spare, nothing special or extra in it at all.

So why was there a small brown suitcase sitting in the middle of his room?

Louis walked quickly over to it, sitting on the ground the examine the suitcase. Nothing special, it was simply a plain, old, brown suitcase, solid. Not like the one the Louis had in his room, but one that might have seen the world once upon a time through its old, wrinkled leather cover.

Shaking himself, Louis blinked and reached his hand out to it. His hand was just touching the handle when his phone rang.

"Hey Harry." Louis said, drawing his hand back from the suitcase handle. "What's up?"

"We're all missing you. It's boring without you here!" Niall's voice yelled in the background.

"That's what you get for not booking a hotel in time." Harry said, laughing slightly.

Louis chuckled ruefully. "I guess so." He glanced again at the suitcase. "Say, Harry, did you put a suitcase in my room? You know, as, as a practical joke?"

"No, I didn't." Harry said, his voice slightly shocked. "Why?"

"Because there's an old suitcase in my room. I thought maybe you had put it it there."

"Any of you put a brown suitcase in Louis' hotel room?" Harry yelled to the other two. A chorus of "No" answered him. "I guess not." Harry said.

Louis frowned again, deeper this time. "Okay. Well, I'm gonna go, alright. I want to see what's in this suitcase."

"Just don't forget the concert tonight, alright?" Harry reminded him. Then with a click and a dial tone. Louis was on his own.

Louis let out a long sigh. "Okay." He muttered. "What's in here?" Louis flipped the lock with his hand, hesitating for only a second before opening the suitcase.
