I Won't Speak

A suitcase. A mystery. A popstar. A selective mute. And a friendship everlasting.

11. Chapter Eleven: Unlocking the Suitcase

A/N: Alright! So, the two people who commented (Thank you!! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to write this) have decided. And, the verdict is...

I sighed. "Alright. I'll tell you guys." I managed to shake my arms out of Niall and Liam's surprised grasp. I walked over to the back of the van, and carefully lifted out the suitcase. "Sorry!" I muttered, and I tapped the suitcase once. "I actually have no idea if you're awake, but tap if you are." I said softly. The boys are staring at me in utter confusion. All the tension has gone out of Harry's body, and he sits down.

Gritting my teeth, I slowly unlock the first lock.

"What do you think is in there?" I heard Niall mutter to Liam.

"Something alive." Liam said. "Something conscious."

"An animal?" Harry guessed.

I tensed, turning the second lock. The top of the suitcase opened slightly. I pulled it up.

"Oh my god!" Harry screamed, jumping up. "you've got a freaking kid in there!"

"Did you kidnap it? Steal it?" Liam shouted.

"Jeez, Lou!" Niall yelled "What the heck?!"

"GUYS!" I shouted over all of them. "Shut up, alright?" I looked back at Lynn, who had her hands over her ears again and was scrunched up tightly. Gently, I lifted her out. "Can't you see you're scaring her?"

They all froze, and seemed to calm down slightly. "Sorry." Harry muttered. "We just didn't expect-"

"I know." I cut him off. "But you all just scared the freaking crap out of her, alright? So shut up for a little bit." I returned my attention to Lynn, who was still cowering in my arms. She kept shaking her head, as if saying no no no no.

"Lynn?" I said softly. he stopped her shaking and looked up at me. "They're not gonna hurt you, alright? They're fine. You're fine."

There were several moments of silence before Niall spoke up. "Isn't she gonna respond?"

I looked over at him and shook my head slightly.

"Now do you see why I didn't tell you?" Lynn slowly moved and sat next to me, away from the others. "She gets so, so scared. Imagine if one of you had accidentally leaked the story. I'm not saying you would," I said, glancing at their hurt faces, "but there is no way that I would put her through that."

The boys nodded solemnly. "So, what now?" Liam said after a couple minutes of silence.

"I don't know." I confessed.

"Was there anything that she brought with her?" Harry pressed.

I jumped a little, startling Lynn slightly. Her eyes were closed, and I thought she must have been sleeping until her eyes fluttered open. "Sorry." I muttered. "A note!" I exclaimed, pulling out my phone, going to where I had copied down the note. "I got an address." I showed it to them.

133 Portobello Road, Notting Hill

"What do you think it means?" Niall said.

I looked at him. "Well, for starters, it's an address. Some sort of bakery."

"We don't go back to London until a month and a half!" Harry shouted.

"Exactly." I said. "So we have two choices. Keep her hidden until then, or sneak away, catch a plane, get there, hopefully without attracting too many paparazzi, and somehow figure out what that address means.

"Maybe her parents own a bakery?" Niall wondered.

"If she even has parents." Liam muttered. "Lynn- that's your name right?" I nodded in confirmation. "Lynn, do you even have parents?"

Lynn just stared at him blankly, but with a trace of some hidden emotion.

"I don't think she quite trusts you yet, mate." Harry said kindly. "Let Louis try."

"Lynn, do you have parents?" I asked.

And like she responded when I asked her if she could speak, Lynn shook her head yes, and then no.

A/N: Okay, so when I was writing this chapter, I found pretty much the perfect song (in my opinion) for this chapter, especially the bit right after Louis stops them all from shouting.

So, um, just listen to it please.

I'm having so much fun writing this book :D
