17. The Date

Mali's POV:

" Do you even know where you're going?" I asked laughing.

" Yes," he said. I looked at him seriously when he looked at me.

" No," he pouted and I giggled.

" Go left," I said and he did as told. I directed him until we got to The Prime.

" Here we are," I said getting out of the car.

" Shall we," he said reaching his arm out. I took it locking my arm with his. We walked inside and it was beautiful.

" Table for 2 please," Manny said to the lady at the front.

" Right this way," she said smiling leading us to our table. Manny beat me to my seat and pulled it out for me.

" Such a gentleman," I giggled as he pushed in my chair. After he sat down we took a look at the menu.

" Hello. I'm Jazmine. I'll be your waitress for tonight. Can I get you any drinks?" our waitress Jazmine asked.

" Actually Jazmine, I think we're ready to order," Manny said and I laughed.

" Even better. Let's start with drinks and then I'll take your orders," Jazmine said.

" Cool. Can I have a pineapple margarita to drink and to eat, I'll have a medium rare cooked sirloin steak with mash potatoes and fries please," Manuel said.

" Ok and for you young lady?" Jazmine said.

" Oh. Um can I have a strawberry margarita to drink and to eat I'll have the grilled mahi with sautéed vegetables and mash potatoes please," I said.

" Ok. I'll put in your orders and I'll be back with your margaritas," Jazmine said and walked away.

" This place is beautiful," I said looking around.

" And romantic," Manny said putting his hand over mine on the table.

" Did I tell you that you look beautiful," he said.

" Yes you did when you came to my house to pick me up," I giggled.

" Oh," he said. He must've been embarrassed because he looked down at his feet with his cheeks all red. I lifted up his chin so I look into his eyes.

" Hey," I said.

" Hi," he laughed. We are so weird, but hey that's us. We told horrible jokes until our food came.

" Remember that time when you tried to speak Spanish and instead of asking that girl out, you called her a hoe and she slapped you," I laughed.

" That was embarrassing," he said.

" But it was funny," I pointed out. We continued to tell embarrassing moments from when we were back in America until we were done eating.

" I'm stuffed," he said.

" Me to," I agreed. Just then the check came. I looked at Manuel, then at the check. I quickly took the check and went to the waitress with money.

" Keep the change," I said.

" No fair. You didn't even give me time to react," he said wrapping his arms around my waist from behind and resting his head on the crook of my neck.

" Exactly," I said putting my hands on his who were around my waist. I turned around so I can face him. I leaned in, him doing the same until our lips met.

When we kissed I didn't feel sparks or fireworks or butterflies, but I felt that feeling that this was a mistake. I felt the same feeling when I was with Derek.

" Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" he asked when we pulled apart.

" I would love to," I said leaning in to kiss him again.

" Come on let's go. We need to go and pick up your brothers from the airport right now," I said.

" You're right," he said.
