Close The Book

It’s really funny you see, he is the sports guy and she is the bookworm. Best friends, the most odd of them, but the most perfect pair. Everyone knew, even when they didn’t, that they wanted to be more than just friends but neither dared to say a word.

“I freaking love you.” He panted.
“You ran from your game to my house just to tell me that?” She questioned in disbelief.
“Yes,” He grabbed her hands. “You’re worth more than just running. You deserve the world.”
She blushed. “I freaking love you.” She smiled.

2. Chapter One.

  Chapter One

Flynn Hale

I grunted as I rolled to the other side of the bed so that I could turn off my stupid alarm. I just didn’t want to face the day just yet. It felt like ten minutes ago I closed my eyes to go to bed (which could be a very true statement.) When I finally manage to get my hand on the nightstand, the bastard of my mobile decided that it was going to be super awesome to start ringing…

“Just kill me already.” I muttered as I sat down rubbing my eye, picking up the mobile. “What the hell do you want so early in the goddamn morning?”

“Well good morning to you too Flynn.” Noah chuckled on the other side. “I just wanted to make sure that you woke up today for school.” I scowled. “I know that you bought two new books, finished them?”

“Yes.” I muttered. “I went to bed around 4.” I added. “Are you going to pick me up?”

“Damn it Flynn.” Noah joked. “Did you finish Calculus?” I rubbed my eyes. “I’ll be there at 6:45.”

“Sure.” I replied. “I’ll give you the last answer at school.” I stood up from my bed. “I need to get ready.” I added and hanged up.

I threw my phone on the covers and walked up to my bathroom to get ready for Monday. Don’t you hate it as well? I mean, I just had two days to rest and now I have to sit on hell for around forty hours a week… Nah! I pass mate I really pass that…

I walked into the bathroom and stripped out my supposed to be pajama and entered the shower, maybe that could get me up and I wouldn’t be so moody in the morning, nah, I am always moody until I have my lovely coffee.

I changed into the first thing that I got out of my closet and ran down towards the kitchen so that I could make some coffee for Noah and myself. People tend to think that it is unusual how we act around each other, but I feel like it’s normal, meaning that since kindergarten we have been best friends…

“Flynn Rider!” I heard Noah shout from the front door. “I am home!”

“Shut up!” I snapped. “My parents are still asleep.” I rolled my eyes. “And stop calling me Flynn Rider, he’s a dude.” I pointed out. “Bacon or just coffee?”

“Just coffee please,” Noah replied taking a seat on the table. “Mom made me some pancakes right before I left.” He explained and I nodded. “She also asked if you wanted to join us for dinner tonight.”

“Yeah sure.” I mumbled as I served the coffee. “My parents are going to be out of town and I don’t feel like staying alone.” I grabbed a toast and some bacon. “So you’re staying for practice?”

“Yeah.” Noah smiled. “Coach wants us to be the best.” He sipped his coffee. “Practice everyday.”

“Sucks to be you.” I spoke as I munched away my food. “I have to stay waiting for you, obviously.” I tilted my head. “Do you have any-?”

“Books? Yeah, I got you a new one.” Noah winked as he placed our mugs on the sink. “Shall we head to school Flynn Rider?” He asked with a playful smile.

“I swear Noah, I will kill you.” I pointed at him as I walked towards the living room where my bag was thrown.

“YOU LOVE ME!” Noah shouted as he followed me.

We arrived to school, fifteen minutes before our first class, so just like always we decided to hang out by my locker as it was the closest to the class. This was like a normal thing for us to do, and if any of the others guys came along, he was welcomed.

Noah and I were discussing about what we were going to do when we got back to his place, as he claimed that he wasn’t going to let me sleep alone at my place, and that his mother was going to say the same when Alex, Noah’s right hand (can you say that?) came along with a freaking smirk on his face, that smirks means nothing good at all.

“Hello Noah, pretty lady.” He winked at my direction causing me to roll my eyes. “I have some perfect news.” He spoke. “Do you want to listen to them?”

I let out a sigh. “Does your news involve a new girl that you scored this weekend?” I questioned and he nodded. “I will wait for you lads in class.” I picked up my bag. “I don’t want to listen how can someone be so blind and disgusting to be with you.” I winked and walked away.

“Burn!” Noah chuckled as I walked away.

I sat down on my usual spot and placed my bag on the desk next to it so that no one would sit. It was stupid, as everyone already knew that Noah was sitting there and no soul dared to mess with Noah Phares, the school’s popular boy… I on the other hand, I am consider to be the charity case from Noah, okay I’m exaggerating, but I am not that popular, people know who I am because Noah is my best friend, although people always say that we are going to end up marrying each other… SO not happening.

I grabbed the emergency book I always carry around in my bag and started reading so that I could kill some time before the teacher decided to make an appearance. You see, this school, is very weird, but I mean, VERY weird. For instance, our teachers are some kind of teenagers stuck in the body of grown people, because even though they all have thirty or so, they act like if they had twenty… Then comes the people inside the school, we are all mad, everyone here is so weird, but we still have the typical scale or whatever…

“Flynn.” I heard a voice sigh. I didn’t want to look up from my book; nothing good was going to come out of it. “Don’t you dare to ignore me Flynn!”

“The hell you want Carl?” I snapped. “Don’t you see that I am busy reading?” I placed my book down. “When a person has a book and their eyes are staring at it, it means that they are reading and don’t want to be interrupted.”

Carl licked his lips. “I just wanted to say hi.” He spoke and I rolled my eyes. “Also, there is a party at my place Friday and I was wondering if you would like to come.”

“Hey Carl!” Noah patted his back, saving me from answering the stupid question. “Flynn.” He smiled and kissed my cheek. “Is there anything you need mate?”

“No.” Carl gulped. “See you Friday?” He questioned Noah. “A party for entering the tournament.”

Noah nodded and questioned me with his eyes. “I think I’ll be there.” He smiled. “See you at practice Carl.” He said and Carl nodded before leaving.

“I frigging love you.” I whispered and Noah chuckled. “That bastard interrupted me in the best part of the book.” I point out.

“You’ve read that book at least 24 times Flynn.” Noah chuckled. “Every part is the best for you.”

“If you only knew.” I winked and kept on reading my book.

The last bell rang and I sighed in relief as my History teacher closed his book and told us that we were free to leave. I was packing my stuff when my phone started vibrating, meaning that someone was either calling me or texting non-stop, I choose option two as no one really calls me, oh and I was so right.

From: The Woman Who Gave Birth To Me.

Flynn sweetie, as you know your dad and I are leaving to Ireland today, we’ll be back in three weeks. Mr. James is staying over, and let him know in whether or not you are going to be hanging out with your boyfriend.

Love, Mom xx

I sighed and rolled my eyes. Noah isn’t my boyfriend and she would know that if she didn’t ignore me half of the times I try to tell her something… I grabbed my bag and hid my phone on my back pocket and started walking out to the football field. People were gathered on the hallways talking and stuff, whilst others were getting ready for their extra curricular activities.

From: The Man You Have To Call Dad

Daughter, your mother told you that we are going to Ireland right? Mr. James is in charge for the time being, don’t you dare to go and stay over at Noah’s place, you have your own house. We’ll let you know when we arrive.

I shook my head and threw myself on the ground. Why couldn’t I have normal parents? A pair who cared about their daughter? Is it so hard to care?

“Why the long face Flynn?” Noah questioned as he sat down next to me. “Did your parents say something stupid or something?”

“No.” I replied with a small smile. “They are heading over to Ireland for like three weeks.” I replied. “And my dad doesn’t want me to hang out with you and my mother is being the usual.” I sighed. “Do you have my book?”

“Stay over, your dad never finds out.” He was right, he never knows. “And yes babe, I’ve got your book.” He smiled. “Sorry if you have read it already.” He chuckled. “I’ll see you after practice.” I nodded as he waved and ran to the middle of the field.
