Bloody Mary

"Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary."

3. chapter 2

"Have fun sleeping your way to medocrity," I muttered under my breath as I walked down the school halls, glancing at a few bullies. "'Cause that's as high as you'll ever climb."

"Goth!" I heard someone scream in mock terror.

"I'll see you in Hell!" I screamed back.

"It's not fair," I huffed, falling back onto my bed. "They're in the same grade as us-- probably even got held back-- and they treat us like dirt."

Mikey was sitting in an office chair I had in front of a small desk I did my homework on- I haven't even used it since sixth grade, I just did my homework wherever. "I know. Sad thing is, Nate gets along with them pretty well."

"Ugh," I groaned loudly in disgust. "Don't remind me."

Mikey walked over and sat next to me on the bed, leaning against the wall. "He's just like them, in their eyes."

I sat up. "I know," I sighed. "We've been having issues because of that lately."

"But you guys are okay, right?" Mikey asked.

"Probably, yeah." I replied, shrugging it off.

"Probably?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, probably."

"Where are my favorite cousins?!" I heard a fimilar voice shout from downstairs.

I dropped my notebook and ran downstairs, attacking Mabel in a hug before she could even step away from the front door.

"Excuse me, I'm here too!" I heard Sarah laugh.

"Sarbear!" I exclaimed, hugging Sarah tightly.

Mabel laughed. "So when is Emily getting home?"

"She's already on her way back from New York. She'll be here by tonight." I replied.

Once my parents had left for whatever trip they decided to take over the weekend, all my friends and I sat in a circle playing truth or dare.

Jess, Diana, Mabel, Sarah, Emily, and I sat on one side, with Mikey, Nathan, Christian, Andrew, and Dan on the other side.

"Okay, Emma, truth or dare?" Mikey asked.

"...Dare." I smirked.

"I dare you to... Um..." Mikey mumbled.

Nathan whispered something and Mikey laughed. "No, dude, that could be dangerous."

I looked at Emily.

"Come on, it is not." Nathan nudged him.

"I dare you to summon Bloody Mary." Mikey said.

Everyone 'ooh'ed and chanted, "Do it, do it, do it!"

"Come on," and, "Don't be a scared-y cat," and such were said.

"Fine," I grumbled.

We all stood up and I got pushed to the bathroom.

I stepped in and grabbed a candle from one of the cabinets, then lit it.

Emily reached her hand in and shut the light off, then closed the door.

"Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary." And nothing happened.

I scoff/laughed and looked down, shaking my head.

But when I looked up, I wasn't met with my reflection. She was there. Screaming.

"It worked!" I screamed loudly.

I heard them struggling to open the door, then everything went dark.
