A Universe Trapped in a Labyrinth

This is my boring and interesting and teenager life spanning from age 15 to 18 (May 2015-August 2018)
Within you'll find many re-inventions of myself, boy trouble, school trouble and life trouble. (Plus interesting bits I thought I would include as well).
Do you dare to enter the maze?

29. The woes of life

Subject: The woes of life

Do you know the saying that with stage fright you should just imagine the crowd/spectators naked? Well, that has never worked for me; every time I either become so creeped out that I am distracted or laugh so uncontrollably that I am distracted. So, I have a better saying – instead of imagining them naked imagine that they’re not there at all. Imagine you are alone. You always do better when nobody is watching you.

But sometimes imagining that you are alone sadly doesn’t work all the time. Especially in times where you are so uncomfortable you try to be invisible in the situation.

That uncomfortable situation was the whole of the day. So get ready for the teenage woes of life.

My best friend and my new friend don’t get alone because of a long ago feud over a boy. I have to split myself in between the two and when I spent time with the new friend my best friend gets jealous and then goes and insults my new friend which starts an argument. It’s gotten really bad and gotten to the point of petty spite and insults and taunts between the two. The situation isn’t helped when my best friend lies and over exaggerates the situation while always managing to twist the situation to have her at the centre.

Believe me when I say that the dinner table is hella awkward when my new friend and my best friend had to sit together.

I don’t know what to do about the situation.

But on the front today, I distracted myself from the tension by playing Pictionary on the table with another friend, which involved sticking red magnifying glasses to our eyes and looking for little pictures of strange elephants and screws.

Maybe, imagining yourself being alone doesn’t always work but distractions nearly always do.
