A Universe Trapped in a Labyrinth

This is my boring and interesting and teenager life spanning from age 15 to 18 (May 2015-August 2018)
Within you'll find many re-inventions of myself, boy trouble, school trouble and life trouble. (Plus interesting bits I thought I would include as well).
Do you dare to enter the maze?

80. I'll have my cake and eat it too

11th October 2015

It’s my birthday!

Now, one thing to understand about me is that I don’t like any fuss and especially since my birthday is close to Christmas I don’t really expect much.

So this has been my day so far:

Being woken up by the sounds of my parents lament about how much I’ve changed within the year, Having breakfast while watching Jeremy Kyle. Watching my Dad try to tango and sing (this failed so much) Opening my cards and saying thank you to every piece of each one Hearing my parents again lament how the fact this time a couple of years ago I was still not born and how my mother grew grey hairs after I was born. (Her aging is all of my fault apparently.)

But it’s also the fact how I know a girl who has the same birthday as me and is the same age yet I know her day will be going a lot different to mine. She had a huge lavish party on Friday fit with disco lights and cake and with like 100 people attending, and it got me thinking about how much different people are. I know that today she will be gifted with loads of presents and money and things like that; however, I’m fine with what I’ve got. I am okay with spending the day making the rounds through my family and watching Jeremy Kyle all day. It’s the fact that people actually bother that make me happy.

Birthdays are just another day really, a day of aging. And as you get older the significance of age gets less I think. I’ve never been one to make a big deal out of anything anyway.

But later I will be eating cake and homemade pie and spending time with my family. As long as people are happy on their birthday that is the main thing because some people aren’t as fortunate.
