A Universe Trapped in a Labyrinth

This is my boring and interesting and teenager life spanning from age 15 to 18 (May 2015-August 2018)
Within you'll find many re-inventions of myself, boy trouble, school trouble and life trouble. (Plus interesting bits I thought I would include as well).
Do you dare to enter the maze?

113. Fears of a Future

24th June 2016,

Britain has left the EU

In my eyes this is a sad day for my country. While others see it as Britain's 'Independence Day' or a day where the people finally rejoice and have a say, I see it as a day where all of my future plans have to be crumpled up and changed.

The British public aren't to be trusted with a monumental decision that this was, especially as the general public can't be trusted with picking the right Britain's Got Talent or X-Factor winner never mind with a referendum.

The thing that annoys me most is that me being legal to register to vote but unable to actually vote means absolutely nothing when it is my generation that is going to be hit the most. There will be inflation, passports will be needed for areas such as Scotland, Ireland and every other country on Earth, university fees will hit the roof and house prices will soar so that when I finally want to be on the property ladder I simply will be unable to do so.

Yes I understand that many of the older generations had good reasons for their vote, stuff like 'I've saw what effect it has on generations and I want to fix that' or 'I want to keep the pound and be known as British not as European'. But I believe that since all politicians do nothing but lie in order to increase their popularity, the general populace had no idea what they were getting in for in the first place.

It'll probably take 5 or 6 years to stabilise our country again and in a world where progress towards a good future is a day to day thing, I can't afford for that to happen.

A decision made out of my hands has affected my entire life and if that doesn't say something about how screwed up politics is then I have no idea what does.

I'm sure there'll be some sort of positive to it, or why else would millions of people vote towards it?
