A story set in the not-so-distant future, where global warming has taken over the world and everything has changed. Follow the story of Tor and Kris, a girl and a boy fresh from the horrors, and Kat and her gang, who, generations later, have evolved unusually.
Can you learn to survive in an apocalyptic world?

7. NOW- Beki

When the disasters were less frequent, in 2055, the people were allowed out to try and survive. They salvaged materials and built makeshift houses, spilt up and formed villages, counties, countries. They were in Great Britain, since that was one of the safest places on earth (no poisonous animals, not close to tectonic plate lines, not too hot, not too cold etc.) These survivors even had a capital city: Verlosser. Some decided to stay in the bunker, but not for long as the food ran out soon after the others had gone out. So everybody moved back into the destroyed world that five years ago was their home.

I hear a noise behind me and quickly spin round, then relax. It's just Ijonie. She smiles and comes over.

"What are you doing?"

"Writing what?" She leans over.

"None of your business," I say, covering my work. I'm so proud of the beautiful fountain pen I found in the ruins of the library, that I write whenever I can. Right now, I'm writing a history of us. The survivors. But Ijonie doesn't need to know that, yet.

"So, are you free tonight? We could go down to the woods with everyone else. It'll be fun!" she says, a persuasive tone to her voice. Everyone else means Finn, Bee, Charlie, Issi, Fran and all the other "young" people of Skyggevann. And fun means that stupid game they always play, a twisted version on Truth or Dare that I hate.

"No." I reply, wishing that it could be different.
