Diary of the Decided and Undecided

Here lies the life, times, ramblings and musings of a decided writer and an undecided college student. Written for the Diary Competition.

Quotes About Journaling:
“Each new day is a blank page in the diary of your life. The secret of success is in turning that diary into the best story you possibly can.” ~ Douglas Pagels
“I don't have a diary, I don't write things into a diary. I imprint myself into the sky and when the sunlight shines brightly, I can stand under the sun's rays and everything I have imprinted of myself into the sky, I will begin to see again, feel again, remember. And when the wind begins to blow, it blows the details over my face, and I remember everything I left in the sky and see new things being born. I am unwritten.” ~ C. JoyBell C.

2. Entry 2

8 March 2015

I'm a fangirl; therefore, I read fan fiction. The fandoms I follow the most are Harry Potter, Danny Phantom and the Mortal Instruments. Sometimes I think I read too much fan fiction, but then I realize the stories I'm following don't get updated often, so I have to follow more stories.

It's the end of the semester! To kick it off, I'm going to catch up on my fan fiction alerts. The first I'm getting caught up on is The Fictionist on FanFiction.Net. I'm following several of her Harry Potter fan fics right now, but I'm excited about chapter 9 of The Monster in the Mirror. Initially, the title only seems to refer to the mental battle Harry has with Voldie when Voldie makes himself appear to be the Chosen One's reflection. So far, the mental battle has consisted of Voldie showing how dark the boy may be ... at least convincing him of that. It doesn't help that the Dark Lord knows Harry is his Horcrux. Voldie showed up at Harry's trial for the Cruciatus Curse (used in the Department of Mysteries on Bellatrix) found on his wand. Then they portkeyed to the Forbidden Forest in Aragog's territory. Harry has the worst and best luck. I'm disappointed Voldie didn't succeed in capturing him. But will Dumbledore protect Harry, or will he face another trial at the Ministry? The cliffhanger left me in want of more. I hope she posts the next chapter soon.

Another fan fic I'm following is Terrific Lunacy's Blurred Reality. It's one of these Muggle-world setting fics. This time, all of the characters are dropped in the dance world. They all have a passion for dance. All of Rowling's Harry Potter books comprise a ballet that the Hogwarts School for Dance is set to perform. In that world, it is one of the most difficult ballets to dance, especially if you play the role of Lord Voldemort or the hero. Long story short, Tom Riddle is the best dancer in the school and is the obvious selection for Voldemort, and Harry works multiple jobs to keep living in a studio apartment. The school holds open auditions for the role of the hero which Harry does the best at since he grabs the audience's attention and doesn't get overwhelmed by Tom's dancing--Harry's technique is horrible because he never intended on becoming a career dancer. The school picks him, but he refuses the role until Tom promises to ruin Harry's friends' dance careers if he didn't perform. Now, I'm left at a cliffhanger where the Sister is found dead in the Chamber of Secrets, but the girl playing her looks very dead. Harry reaches her, and his hand comes back bloody. Tom is a distance away with this creepy grin on his face. I wonder if the girl really is dead or if she's acting. It's taken four months for that story to get five chapters, so I hope there will be an update in the next month.

I quietly complain about authors not updating their stories, but I haven't updated my own. I haven't written past two chapters on any of them. Some of the delay is life, but some of it is losing the nerve and interest in the story. Maybe I should have made a New Year's resolution to write more chapters for those stories. Maybe I should write one-shots.
