2. Chapter 2

When I woke up, all I could think about was Harry. He just made his way into my mind. He's just so... Perfect. I'm just disappointed because he doesn't see it.

I sit up and rub my eyes. This morning is going to be slow, I can already tell. The light was shining in through the window so I gave in and decided not to sleep in.

It was Sunday and by the looks of it, I wouldn't be going outside. It was raining really hard. I get out of bed and put on some sweatpants and a tank top.

When I sit back down on the bed there's a knock at the door. I sigh and stand back up, I walk over to the door and open it.

Harry was standing there holding something behind his back. "Good morning." He smiles.

"Good morning." I grin at him. "What are you doing?"

"I got you something." He pulls a bouquet of roses from behind his back and hands them to me.

"Aw, Harry. Thank you, that's so sweet." I take them and look at them. They looked absolutely incredible.

"I figured you'd need something to brighten the day. Tomorrow is Monday." He laughs.

"You're so nice." I smile. "You didn't have to get me anything."

"I wanted to. You deserve it."

I look at them for a second then I set them on my desk that was by the door.

"So, how is your day so far?" He asks with the same cute grin on his face.

"I just woke up." I look down at my outfit. "As you can see by my sweatpants."

"Oh, did I wake you up?"

"No. I've been up a while. Don't worry."

"Just making sure." He says. "I brought you some coffee."

He bends down and picks up a Starbucks cup that was inside a cardboard drink holder. "I didn't know what you wanted so I just got you green tea."

"You're being so nice today." I smile and take the cup. "What's the occasion?"

"Just because." He shrugs and smiles at me. "I'll do this everyday if you want me to."

"You don't have to. I'd run out of places to put the roses."

"I'll still bring you tea." He says. "You can never have too much tea."

"You don't have to do all of these things." I take a sip of the tea.

"What would you prefer?"

"Id be happy with just a high five." I laugh. "I'm not that hard to please."

"You deserve a lot more than you think." He smiles and looks around. The halls were empty, mostly because on the weekends some students go home.

"You can come in, if you want." I say. "It'd be awkward just standing in the hall all day."

After a few seconds he agrees and comes in. I shut the door behind him and we sit on my bed.

"I like your Star Wars sheets." He comments.

"Thanks. That's the first time someone said that." I laugh and set the tea down on the table beside my bed.

"You know, you're really cool." He says and leans against the part of my bed that was against the wall.

"You're cool too." I lay my head against his shoulder and look up at him. "I like your hair."

"All I did was wash it." He laughs. "I don't pay much attention to my hair."

"It's so fluffy." I run my hand through it. It's so soft, like wool.

He pushes it to the side. "Is it really that soft?"

"Yeah." I stop touching his hair and put my hand on his forehead. "That bruise faded a little."

"All I did was walk into a pole. How does the bruise get so big?"

"I don't know." I shrug. "I'm sure it will go away."

"I hope." He says. "I look like a grapefruit."

"No you don't. You look adorable." I smile and his face turns a bright pink.

It's quiet again and I could hear him breathing. It's really weird because I'm usually not this close to anyone except Chase. BUT HES GONE AND ILL NEVER MENTION HIS NAME EVER.

Harry is way nicer than chase though. Chase isn't this polite and he doesn't compliment me much. Plus, Harry is better than chase in all categories. Except Harry doesn't realize how great he is. Chase is conceited and always reminds me. I don't know what I ever saw in him.

"So, what do you want to do?" He asks and looks down at me.

I look around my room. It's really weird because two days ago I wouldn't even talk to Harry but now it's normal. Funny how someone can make you have feelings you didn't know you had.

"We still have that date to go on." I remind him and smile at the thought.

"Where do you want to go?" He smiles and I can't help but smile back. Emotion overload.

"Wherever you want. It doesn't matter to me." I tell him. "I'm not hard to impress, we could just sit in here all day."

"As long as you're here, I'm fine wherever we are."

"Actually, we could go outside." I suggest. "Just walk around or something."

"It's raining though." He giggles. "Well, it's almost always raining."

"We could go play in the rain?" I ask. "Do you want to?"

"I don't want you to get sick." He says softly. "You could get pneumonia out there."

"Alright. Since it's raining, we'll just hang out in here for the day." I give in. His voice is just so soothing, I could listen to it all day.

"Harry, you have 4 kids." I laugh and move my game piece two spaces forward.

We were playing The Game Of Life on my bed and he kept having children.

"I'm not even married yet." He laughs. "I don't think we're playing the game right."

"Let's do something else." I suggest. "I don't think you should have any more kids."

"Well, what do you want to do?"

I yawn quietly and put the game back into the box. "I'm tired."

"You can go to sleep, I'll leave if you want me to."

"You can take a nap with me, Harry."

I slide the game underneath my bed and Harry looks at me. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I don't have a problem with it." I scoot over toward him and pull my blanket over me. "Here's a pillow." I hand him my pillow with a R2-D2 pillow case on it.

He lays down next to me and I attempt to take a nap. It doesn't work, I'm too busy focusing on Harry. His calm breathing is so soothing.

I roll over to where I'm facing him and I lay my head on his shoulder. "What are we?" I ask.

"I don't know." He says softly with a sigh. "We are friends who have taken interest in each other."

"That sounds about right." I grin and he has a little smile on his face as well. "I do like you, Harry." I add.

"I like you too. A lot actually." His face lights up and he pushes his hair out of his face. I see that the bruise is almost faded.

"So what do you suppose we do?"

He looks around for a minute before looking at me. "Well, I was hoping you would be my girlfriend."

"I'd love too." I can't help my stupid grin on my face, so I just sit there and smile like an idiot.

Harry smiles and it goes silent other than my heartbeat, which sounded louder in my head.

I yawn but it came out really weird and high pitched. Harry laughs and says in a tone just above a whisper, "You're cute."

When I wake up, I don't even remember falling asleep. The time is 6 in the afternoon. I look over and see that Harry is asleep with his hand lying on my shoulder.

I move it gently, trying not to wake him and scoot toward the end of the bed so I could stand up. The bed makes a little squeak as I stand up but he doesn't even move. There wasn't anything I could do without making noise, so I just grabbed a book off of my shelf and decided to read.

After I laid back down next to him, I started to read the book I chose, The Hobbit. I've read it before, but it's one of my favorites. Just a month ago, I saw The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five armies in theatre and it made me sad. Thorin died, Fili and Kili died, and most importantly IT WAS THE LAST MOVIE.

As I start to read the first chapter, I get about halfway through it and Harry wakes up.

He rolls over and looks at me. "What are you reading?" He asks quietly with a yawn.

"The Hobbit." I show him the cover. "It's really awesome."

"I don't think I've ever read that. What's it about?"

"Well, a little hobbit-which is kind of like a dwarf but smaller- named Bilbo Baggins. He lives in a hobbit hole in a little village called The Shire. There's also this dragon.." I stop when I realize I'm rambling.

He looks at me with wide eyes. "That sounds really cool. When was the book written?"

"1937. It's really old."

"Really? It seems like the older books are more interesting."

I grin. "Yeah, nowadays books are just the same concept. It gets boring, I can't really get into any new books."

"There's only one book I like that isn't bad. It's called Finders Keepers."

"Oh, that's the new Stephen King book. I love Stephen King, he's my favorite author next to J. K. Rowling."

"You have a very good taste in books." He smiles. "I don't see that often with most people. Most of them are obsessed with Twilight and all that rubbish."

"You know, we should go to the library some day and see if we can find some books that are just as good." I close The Hobbit and set it on the shelf that was above my bed.

"Why not now? We have time." He suggests. "We could pick out books for each other, then after we read them, switch."

"That sounds perfect. Wait, right now?"

"Yeah. If you want to."

"Alright." I sit up and stretch. "Are we going to walk there or what?"

He sits up as well and looks at the window. "It stopped raining, so I guess we could walk."

I crawl off the bed and grab my coat off the rack. I figured it'd be a little cold out. "You should get your coat." I say as I put my Sperries on.

"Ill go get it from my room. Be right back." He says and pulls himself off of the bed and walks to the door. As he leaves I am trying to find my beanie. I'm dressing extra warm because I do not want to get sick, I am horrible when I'm sick. Eventually I find my beanie and put it on.

I figured that I might as well hurry and try to look decent. Quickly, I rush into the bathroom, brush my teeth, put on perfume, and brush my hair. Straight hair is my everyday look, usually.

I gather all of my things; my phone, lip balm, and I make sure to put about 15 dollars in my coat pocket just in case.

As soon as I get in the hall, Harry comes out and he's all smiley and happy as usual. "You ready?" I ask.

"Yes, definitely." He nods. "It's supposed to rain in a little bit, but we'll be at the library them so it won't matter."

We start walking down the hall and down the stairs. "Have you read Mr. Mercedes?" I ask to keep it from being silent. Silence kills.

"No, I don't think I've read it. Is it good?"

"Yeah, it's a bit strange but a good strange."

"I like good strange, it's my favorite kind of strange."

I laugh and he pushes the lobby door open when we get to it. "M'lady." He says and holds it open for me.

"Look who's being a gentlemen today." I say nonchalantly and walk outside. He follows behind me and we start on our long, hard, blistering, freezing journey to.... The library. (Ok, I overemphasized it, but whatever)

As soon as we get about halfway down the street, there's a grumble of thunder and a little streak of lightning in the sky.

"It's going to storm so badly." Harry says and messes with the little hat he was wearing.

"I like storms, they're peaceful. I just don't like how the thunder and lightning keeps me up at night."

"Lightning is cool, but thunder is loud and obnoxious." Harry agrees. "It's like how you can't get a puppy without the barking."

"Cats are better. They just meow and mind their own business."

"You are right. Plus, cats don't chew on everything." He laughs. "Well, sometimes Dusty chews on my fingers."

"I had a hamster that did that. Rest In Peace, Mr. Carrot."

We stop at a corner but continue walking down the next block. The library was just a couple buildings away.

There's another crackle of lightning and it suddenly started raining. Not just rain, downpour.

I put my hoodie up and follow Harry underneath a little walkway that had a roof over it. "The library is right there." He points to the giant building that I loved so much.

"Come on, a little rain won't hurt." I say and remember that I don't need to get sick. "Wait. Never mind."

"We could just follow this path and run up the stairs over there." He motions toward the road and back at the library.

"Alright." I say and we continue walking. I'm starting to regret not bringing an umbrella. It would be really useful right now, mind the lightning.

As soon as the little roof ends, we start running up to the steps of the library. We quickly get inside before it starts raining even harder- yes, it can rain harder than downpour, have you been in England?

I pull my hood off and put my beanie in my pocket. "We should have brought an umbrella." I sigh and laugh a little.

"How much fun would that have been?" Harry asks and a little grin spreads across his face. Adorable.

After a second, I look around. "Alright, let's go book hunting."

"What book did you get?" I ask Harry as we sit down on the little couch that was in the back of the library.

"The Shining." He grins. "What about you?"

"On Dublin Street. It's kind of romantic, but it looked interesting." I flip the book over and show him the cover.

"Oh, that looks very interesting." He emphasizes the word 'very.'

We switch books and start reading. The Shining is a horror/sci-fi book. The beginning is great though. It talks about a family, the father killed the two daughters with a hatchet, shot his wife with a shotgun and did the same to himself. I have a feeling this will be pretty graphic.

I glance at Harry and he looks like he's really into that romance novel. He turns the pages quickly, like he's going to miss something if he's too slow.

I just love the way his eyes light up every time I see him turn the page. After a while I look back at my book and continue reading.

This thing that we're doing- sitting here, together, reading- I could do it all day.
