It's Today?! - The Story of My Life

Who knows maybe with the incentive, I may keep this diary, and not just as a collections of rants, and updates ever time I get ill. I mean seriously, two entries in three years? Both saying "I'm sick"?

22. Memory loss and other study tactics 17.9.15

Well I've been a busy, busy bee again. Got an assignment from one of my classics tutors, to complete by next week, which involves reading about quarter of the Iliad and then writing about it. I don't think it'll be too hard, though a four page essay it a tad excessive I think... It only on the differences between Achilles and Hector.
Also had a maths lesson today from a proper tutor. First one I've had since I was eleven... Predicted grade A according to him! I couldn't be happier! It's also amazing what a difference a proper teacher makes, rather than just a textbook and my own intuition...
Was studying memory yesterday, testing out Murdock's experiment. They gave me fifteen words to read through once and try to remember. I remembered nine of them, so not too bad, but I also discovered I have a really bad short term memory (which I know will not come as a surprise to anyone because anyone who knows me knows my memory works in strange ways...) but I remembered all five of the first words on the list, the ones that had already passed into long term memory. I remembered two of the middle five, which is pretty normal, most people struggle to remember them because they're floating between short and long term memory and haven't been stored properly in either. Then came the short term memory words. The last five. That section too, I remembered two. They were the last words on the the list, and the once that I had only just read, and I could barely remember them. That's uncommon apparently.
I don't think it's something to pride myself on, the fact that my short term memory doesn't work however...

It's the Battle of Britain ball/dining in night for my father. I'll be intrigued as to how many bottles of port he gets fined for... Though I still don't really get how the fining system works... I should probably find that out before I have to go to one on the 25th... Been trying to decide between three dresses for that one... Light green, but kinda bright, 50s vintage dress; that's kinda cottony fabric, a creamy coloured one which is netting, and a black and grey one... I think I'll end up going green. I love the nipped in waist effect, and it covers my shoulders so I don't have to worry about that front.

Okay, that's pretty much what I've been up to I think. Decided I broke a rib fencing. Truth is, I just got stabbed and have like a bruise... But yeah, I've gotta go do some reading... So long!
