It's Today?! - The Story of My Life

Who knows maybe with the incentive, I may keep this diary, and not just as a collections of rants, and updates ever time I get ill. I mean seriously, two entries in three years? Both saying "I'm sick"?

For the diary comp. Winner of May.

1. Introductions and the like 5-5-15

I must admit, I've never been one for keeping a diary. I've tried, but life just goes too fast. Who knows though. Maybe I'll be able to keep this one up? Only time will tell.

Well, I guess I'll start with an introduction. I'm not sure a long description of me analysing plays all day, then spending my evening stressing over exams, gaming and discussing with my sister who we think the hottest animated guys we could remember of the top of our heads are (Flynn Rider won most marriageable, "Here comes the smoulder"), would be that exciting an entry, especially for the first one.

I'm Madouc, as you most likely well know. I was named after a character from a series of fantasy books, the Lyonesse Trilogy by Jack Vance. Madouc was a feisty, red headed, changling princess with thick bouncing curls, not unlike myself. I wonder where my parents saw the similarity?
Now Madouc is really my second name, and I know several of you know my first, I throw it around a bit, but it is unimportant here.

I'm British. I guess that's something. Nothing like learning to be able to tell the difference between a soft drizzle and a light shower of rain. You just watch the top of your teacup.

I've really been feeling the pain of missing the last three episodes of a Game of Thrones (I've got them recorded, just not watched yet). People keep talking on Facebook and Tumblr! It's terrible! Curse you A levels and your knack for stealing time!

I've been reading James Clavell's Shogun recently, and it's truly a masterpiece. The character development is ingenious, and the way it slips from each characters point of view is something to behold. I remember the introduction to one of my favourite characters, and we learnt about him from the eyes of someone who disliked him, so I disliked him too. It wasn't until a few chapters later, where you get to meet the character properly, and see inside his head that you really fall in love with him. Ah, I can't recommend it high enough.

Won a bet with my sister and mother over names the new princess would have. I voted either Elizabeth or Diana, and I got the both! So beat that! I was still hoping for Leia though...
