No one writes in diaries anymore.

26. Sunday 31st May 2015 - Twenty-sixth Entry

It was no wonder I overslept this morning, considering what a tiring day I had yesterday - but then again, I seem to be waking up late more and more recently. It would be bad if this became a habit...

Winter is approaching and the house is getting chilly. If I'm not careful, my feet will sometimes become so numb I can no longer feel my toes and it will feel so terrible that I will have to spend about five minutes rubbing my feet together and warming them up again.

In any case, today I went to a local park where my friend was holding a birthday party. Five other people from my class at school came, as well as some of my friend's friends from swimming. It really was fun. Even though we were all about fifteen years old, we went on every piece of equipment we could find in the park such as the flying fox or a wall for rock climbing. We played tug of war and had a water balloon fight. Eventually, our games reached the level where we returned to being children and played hide and seek tips, though I teamed up with two of my friends and we all began to pretend it was the Hunger Games. I mean, we even had a secret signal, several escape routes planned, a meeting place in case we had to scatter and were dead set on coming up with Capitol-like names for ourselves after deciding we were the 'experts' of the game and therefore the Careers of Districts 1, 2 and 4.

What I'm trying to say is that even though we were all fifteen years of age and would be much more suited to going to movies or shopping, we would much rather run around like children and were perfectly content with this.

Going to the park did bring about a small feeling of nostalgia though. It felt like it wasn't that long ago but the truth is, last year, in late April, all my friends had actually gone to this very park in order to hold a surprise birthday party for one of the friends in our group. That's why it was nostalgic and I constantly wondered to myself, "Has it really been that long since then?"

I returned home around 5pm, and I have nothing more to say about the rest of the day except perhaps the fact that I was so tired that I went to bed early and didn't even remember to turn off the lights...
