A School Girl Crush

Mia Knight is just starting high school and is moving from a small town to a town with a high school bigger than her entire old town. She doesn't even expect to find her way around school, so it comes as a shock when she finds love.

8. Science

At Centennial, 1st period starts at 8:30. If you get to school before 8, you have to sit in the gym on the bleachers. That's why Keaton and I try to get to school after 8.

When we get to school, we put out stuff in our lockers an put the stuff we need for science in the science classroom. We spend the next 26 minutes finding friends and catching up with them. I check my phone and say to Blake, whom Keaton and I were talking to,

"Hey, we should all probably get to class."

"Oh yeah" He says. "See ya."

We head to science and take our seats just as the bell rings. Mrs. Greiner walks in and says,

"Okay, today we are doing lab experiments. The instructions are at the stations and you are working with the person you are sitting next to."

Keaton and I get to work. We can easily do this experiment in 5 minutes, so we talk while we work.

"Do you think he's going to ask me out?" I ask Keaton.

"Probably. I mean he did just tell basically the entire school that he likes you. He does have over 1,000 followers."

"And here I am with only 800." We laugh and Keaton says,

"But seriously though, he is going to ask you out. Hey, are you going to that party on Friday?"

"Yeah. My parents are going out of town. My mom is looking at a new place to open a second restaurant and my dad is speaking at a convention. My sister is also going to visit her friend Annabelle in Arkansas. No one but me in the house from Thursday through Sunday night."

"Ok. Can you come to my house around 7 to get ready for the party on Friday?"

"Sure," I said.

"Both my parents are going on a business trip Friday through Saturday."

Keaton's parents work for the same company so when one parent goes in a business trip the other one does too.

"Ladies, there has been a lot of chit chat going on back here," Mrs. Greiner says as she approaches us.

"That's because we're finished with our experiment," I say.

"Okay but try to keep the volume low."
