A School Girl Crush

Mia Knight is just starting high school and is moving from a small town to a town with a high school bigger than her entire old town. She doesn't even expect to find her way around school, so it comes as a shock when she finds love.

5. Having Some Fun

"I was hoping you would say that," said Cameron with a smile. "I found the one thing that could make this New Years Eve better." He paused for dramatic affect,"Confetti!!" He yelled.

"Where did you find the confetti?" I asked.

"I found it in a closet that was locked but I was able to unlock it, grab some confetti and save our New Years Eve."

"Do you mean everyone's New Year's Eve or ours in particular."

"Obviously I meant everyone's. I... Umm.... I didn't even know you were coming." Cameron was acting strange. Maybe he had forgotten that I had known him for 4 months now and could tell when he was lying. He was definitely lying.

Then I noticed 2 adults that knew me and I knew them. They were Angie and Craig. And they were waving at Cameron.

"Do you know Angie and Craig?" I asked Cameron.

"Ya. They're my parents." So that's why he knew I was coming. He must've asked his parents if anyone he knew would be here and they must've said my name.

"So, how are we going to drop confetti at midnight with Mr. Traeman hovering around?" I question Cameron.

"Well, I have a plan but if we aren't careful, Mr. Traeman will catch us and kick out asses out of here."

"Got it," I said.

A few hours and a few close calls with Mr. Traeman later, we have some confetti launchers set up to go off at midnight. This night has been amazing so far and it isn't even midnight, although it isn't far off. It's 11:00 when Cameron tells me,

" I won't be able to stick around after midnight because I have to leave with my parents. We have a flight to go to Texas to visit some family that leaves at 7 and we all want to get some sleep before our flight. Unfortunately, there is no service where they live in Texas, so no communication is possible with anyone." He makes an over dramatic sad face when he says that last sentence.

"Ok," I tell him with a slight laugh. "At least you'll be here for the ball drop." Then I add in a hushed whisper, "And the confetti, too."
