86. Chapter 86 : One More Night

Helen's POV

I rolled over and stretched my arm out. The spot next to me was empty. I opened my eyes and propped myself up on my elbow. There was a white card on the nightstand. I reached over and picked it up.

I went out to get breakfast. I hope you don't mind. Figured maybe you could get tired of cooking everyday. I'll be back soon, love.

I smiled to myself and pushed off the bed before going into the closet. I looked at Calum's shirt before pulling it off and tossing it into the hamper. I grabbed one of his flannels and buttoned it up on me. I nodded with satisfaction before pulling on some skinny jeans and shoes.

After finishing my morning routine, I made the bed. I jogged downstairs and plopped down on the couch. The front door unlocked shortly after and Calum walked in holding a pink bakery box in one hand and the keys in the other. He held a white paper bag in between his teeth.

He waved slightly and I smiled before walking over to him as he closed the door with his foot. I took the bag away from his mouth.

"Morning babe," He said before giving me a quick kiss, "How'd you sleep?"

"I slept okay. You?" I asked as I followed him into the kitchen.

He shrugged, "Slept pretty good." He set the pink box on the island. "I wasn't sure if you wanted watermelon, strawberries or honeydew so I got you all three."

I looked inside the bag I was holding and saw the three plastic fruit bowls. I smiled at him, "You know me too well."

"Of course I do, darling," He chuckled.

We sat across from each other on the island as we ate. The morning sun was radiating into  the glass windows. It gave off comforting warmth. I inhaled. Today will be a good day.

"We should arrange plans to go out," Calum said.

"To do what?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe just explore or do some shopping since you absolutely love doing that."

I scoffed, "I hate when you're right."

He smiled brightly at me, "So tomorrow?"

I nodded.

Calum told me he'd be in the shower. I listened to him loudly sing a Nick Jonas song. I sat on my bed, looking through online stores to do some quick shopping. I heard a phone vibrate. I looked at mine but i had no notifications. It was Calum's.

An unknown number flashed on the screen. I furrowed my brows. I'm not one to be nosy but this message caught my eye.

Unknown number: Hi Calum, I was waiting for your call.

I glared at the screen before using my fingerprint to unlock his phone. I began replying to the text,

Me: Who is this?

Unknown number: Remember? You gave me your number when were at that club in London? We can meet any time and at any location

I felt my breakfast not sit well with me. I closed the laptop in front of me before pushing it away. A mixture of anger and sadness washed over me. I quickly got up and began putting my boots on. Tears began running down my face  as thoughts swarmed my head.

I grabbed a bag from the closet and began filling it with clothes in case things went badly and I needed to make a quick getaway. After zipping the bag up, I stuffed it in a small hiding place in the closet.

I slowly left the room and went downstairs. I mindlessly wandered through the house. Calum's phone in my hand. It vibrated some more but I paid it no more attention.

Obviously Calum promised he would return the call to her. Betrayal settled on my shoulders as I felt my breathing get heavier.

"Babe," Calum called from the bedroom.

My sadness was quickly replaced by a flame of anger that burned bright at the sound of his voice.

"Have you seen my phone?" He asked as he jogged down the stairs.

"For what?" I snapped and faced him.

"Because it's my phone?"

"Or to call that one girl you gave your number to back in that club in London," I said.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

I shoved his phone to his chest. He read the texts.

"And you're over here, telling me to not go to clubs when you're the one that was throwing your number to every girl you see?!"

"It's not like that," He said. "I can-"

"Explain? Are you really about to throw me with that line? But okay, entertain me," I crossed my arms.

He sighed, "I was drunk and I don't know what happened. I was missing you like hell-"

"And you decided to find me in the mouth of another girl?" I asked.

"I didn't kiss anyone!" He raised his voice.

"Then what, Calum? What did you do that you just had to give your number to a random girl at the club. Not to mention, she was expecting your call."

"Goddammit Helen!" He knocked a chair to the floor. "I didn't do anything! I would never do that to you and you know that!"

"I'm angry because this is exactly what I am worried about! You leave, you get tired of not getting anything for the next months, you finally can't take it so you drown your sexual frustration in some other girl!" I threw a vase to the floor. It shattered.

He stepped forward.

"Don't fucking touch me," I said.

"Do you not trust me?" He asked.

"I don't know Calum. I want to trust you, but when stuff like these happen, I just don't know what to think," I added. "I don't know what to think because anything can go wrong! Anything can happen and everything can fall apart in an instant!"

"Then don't let things fall apart. Don't let us fall apart," He said before setting his phone on the island.

I put my hands to my head, "We're already falling apart, Calum. I'm leaving," I rushed up the stairs and went into the closet. I grabbed my bag and turned, Calum stood in the doorway.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"I just need some air," I replied.

"And you had a bag ready?"

"Yes," I added.

"No," He said. "No, I can't let you do this."

"Get out of the way Calum," I said.

"I promised you to never let you go," He grabbed me and crushed his lips against mine. I tumbled into a different world as his lips collided with mine. My anger and sadness faded away.

I dropped my bag gripped his arms. His hands went down to my butt as he grabbed it before picking me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he began walking towards the bed.

"I fucking love you," he whispered against my skin. His lips were on my neck. "I'm yours and yours only."

I looked at him. His eyes searched my face.

"Keep it that way," I said.

A smiled puled at the corner of his lips before he kissed me roughly again.
