69. Chapter 69 : My Sister Is A Liar

Luke's POV (It's been a while)

I held my phone to my ear. My Mum was talking to me about what was going on back in Australia. I missed home, yes, but I also missed my Mum and Helen. Dad too, even though I'd be staying at his house after we're done with the tour. Just four weeks left.

"Where's Helen?" I asked.

"She's in California," Mum said.

"What? I thought she went back to Sydney."

"That's what I needed to talk to you about, Luke. She got into another fight," She trailed off. I pinched the bridge of my nose. "She was given a warning when she had gotten into that fight with Rebecca Green and I guess if she got into anther fight, she'd be expelled."

"Yea, I remember." My mind drifted to when we all sat in Mr. Richards office couch. Helen was in the chair next to me. She had blood on the corner of her mouth and her face was red from the slap she took. She was explaining what happened and how she learned to fight.

It was shock to me to find out that Dad put her in those boxing classes. Mr. Richards gave her warning and told Helen that if she got into another fight, she'd be expelled. He gave her suspension and gave us suspension as well. I remember that Helen lost it right then and there and nearly cussed out Mr. Richards if I didn't carry her out of the school.

"So why is she in California?" I asked.

"I just couldn't handle her lifestyle Luke!" She exclaimed.

"How? She's your daughter," I said.

"But Luke, she's already gotten arrested for graffiti and god knows what else she's capable of!"

"I'll talk to her," I said.

"Okay, and Luke, please go easy on her. It's not her fault."

'Alright," I said before hanging up. I called Helen and she answered almost immediately.

"Hey Luke," She greeted.

"Really Helen?" I asked.

"What?" She asked confused.

"You got into another fight and got expelled!" I shouted.

"Mom told you, huh?"

"Yea, she told me. How could you do this? You knew exactly what the consequences are and you still go on and do something that stupid?!"

"You're right Luke, I'm just going to go on and let some fucking twat call me a slut and telling me to 'hop off Calum's dick'!" She shouted angrily.

I stayed quiet, "Who was it?"

"Travis and Tyler," She replied.

"Hold on, you fought two guys?" I asked.

"Yea, Luke I had no choice!" She exclaimed.

"And your 'No choice' decision led to you being expelled from the school!" I inhaled. "Helen, you've got to start thinking before you act."

"I know, Luke, I don't need you to be telling me something that I already know."

"As your older brother I need to be constantly reminding you these things because it seems like you're constantly forgetting them."

"First Calum, now you? You know I'm getting really tired of people telling me what I should and shouldn't do!"

"Because it's the best for you! Your decisions can land you in the hospital or worse, I can't lose you twice," I said quietly.

"I know my boundaries Luke. I know when it's time to say no," She added.

"That's what I'm afraid of, only you know your boundaries and who knows how far than can stretch to. All I'm saying is be careful because it seems like you turn into someone else when you're in California."

Calum's POV

I walked through the door and Luke was rubbing his temples. He looked tired, older and worried. I slowly approached him. I rested my hand on his shoulder and he jumped slightly.

"Okay, dude?" I asked.

"No," He paused and I waited for him to continue. "When you called her, what did she say?"

"Well it was 5 in the morning and I was surprised she even answered, but she said that Logan was going to take her to this place that overlooks the sunrise perfectly," I shrugged. "Why?"

"She lied to you. She's in California. She got expelled after getting in a fight so Mum sent her back to California," Luke explained.

Why would she lie to me about this? I closed my eyes, "She gets crazy in LA, like she's a different person. Sure she's herself when I talk to her, but when she goes to parties, especially when she gets drunk, she does stupid shit."

Luke nodded.

"I'm going to call her," I said before getting up and walking out. I felt pained. Why didn't she tell me? I'm her boyfriend and she doesn't even tell me what wrongs she's done?

I took a deep breath as I held my phone to my ear. I waited for her to answer.

"Hello," She said.

"Why did you lie to me?" I asked.

"Calum, I'm sorry but I just couldn't tell you about another failure I've done. I mean I punched a guy because he told me to hop off your dick, I got mad okay?"

"Who was it?" I asked.

"Tyler and Travis."

"Well I'm disappointed that you were the one to beat Travis up, I should've done that. That's my job as your boyfriend to beat up guys who are assholes to my girl, right?" I asked lightening up the mood.

She giggled slightly, "My hero."

I sighed, "Helen, I love you."

"I love you too Cal."

"You've got to start being more honest with me, I know you're scared but I'm your boyfriend, I'm the least person you should be scared of. You said you don't want this relationship based on lies yet you always seem to give me lies instead of the truth."

"I know Calum, but it's still hard for me to believe that. I truly am sorry and I know I should always give you the truth, even if it isn't always glamorous."

"I'm always here for you, no matter what, okay?" I asked.

Always and forever.
