68. Chapter 68 : Meeting The Band

Helen's POV

Adin told me I'll be meeting the rest of our band today. It was a Saturday afternoon and I told him to use his spare key because I'd probably be in the shower. We are seriously so close, that we have spare keys for each other's houses. I was putting my shoes on and fixing my hair that was now dry.

"Helen!" I heard Adin call.

"I'm coming!" I replied. I heard Billie bark, followed by Adin calming him down and telling him that the people were friendly.

I suddenly saw movement from the corner of my eye. My head snapped in the direction of the movement. I stared back at my worst nightmare and my inner little girl overcame me. I can do it, I told myself. I can kill it. I grabbed my slipper that was lying around and held it out in front of me. Just kill it, I told myself. It's not that big. I was about to bring the slipper to the wall when the spider moved. I shrieked and dropped the slipper before bolting out the door.

"Adin!" I screamed as I ran down the stairs. "It's a spider! " I ran as fast as my legs could carry me until I tripped over something and landed face first onto the marble floor.

"Aaaaaand that's our drummer," I heard Adin say. I felt several hand help me up. "Are you okay?"

I nodded, "But there's a spider in my room and I am not about to kill it when there's a man in the house. Hurry before it leaves!"

Adin shook his head but reluctantly started his way up the stairs. I turned and faced the two boys in front of me. They were both as tall as Adin. Which is 6 feet tall. The one to my right had mint green colored hair. They brought out the color of his eyes and made them pop out. He wore a Panic! At the Disco shirt and some jeans with converse to go along with it. His chiseled jawline was perfect. He smiled slightly.

The one to my left had simple black hair and hazel eyes. He looked...majestic. His features were sharp and almost godly? He wore a The 1975 shirt and I didn't hesitate to hug him. I pulled back and smiled awkwardly. "Sorry, it's just that I really like The 1975. I also really like Panic! as well. I have that exact same shirt actually."

"That's cool. I'm Matty Blaze, by the way," The mint colored haired boy said. He gave me a quick hug.

"I'm Helen Hemmings," I said, I turned to the other one.

"I'm Aero Angelo," He smiled.

I nodded, "Well this is splendid! Have you ever been in a band before?" I asked.

"Yea, Aero and I were actually in this band called 'Silver Moon' but it didn't work out because we could never agree on anything," Matty explained.

I nodded, "So are you best friends?" I asked and pointed between the two.

"Since elementary," Aero said.

"Well that's done and the spider is dead," Adin said and stood next to me. "Shall we go to the practice room?"

I nodded and led them to where I held my drum kit and instruments. I walked in and my bass and guitar along with Adin's spare guitar  stood on the left.

"Yea, so make yourselves at home. Who's playing bass?" I asked. Matty lifted his hand. "So that would make you the lead singer," I told Aero. He nodded.

"First we'd like to see you drum, if you don't mind," Aero said.

"Think I'm not good enough?" I asked and raised my eyebrow.

"No!" He quickly said. "It's just-"

I chuckled, "It's fine." I walked over to my kit and sat on the stool. "What should I play?" I asked.

"What songs do you know?" Matty asked.

"Mostly Green Day songs, but I also am working on In Bloom by Nirvana. I'm trying to expand my techniques," I explained. "I can play Jesus of Suburbia, if you'd like."

They nodded and I grabbed my drumsticks before lightly taping on the drums to amp myself up. I nodded to myself and began making the beat to the song with my drumsticks. I used all my muscle and power to drive the force on the drums. I loved drumming, I felt great after playing for a while because I could release anger and emotion.

I stopped hitting the drums when I heard my name. I looked up and the two boys were staring at me in amazement.

"Dude that was awesome!" Matty exclaimed.

"Do you know American Idiot?" Aero asked.

I nodded.

"Great, we can start practice with that," He said.

"Why not?" I shrugged.

Aero, Adin, and Matty all started to get the guitars and adjust the straps. They hooked it up to the speakers and Aero took the lead. I counted down before they started the guitar riffs and we burst into a full on rock band.

After two hours of practicing three songs and showing off each others skills, we settled for something to eat. Aero and Matty were both really awesome people. They're funny and weird just like Adin and I's friendship. We pulled up to the In-N-Out drive-thru as Aero rolled down the window. We all ordered and moved forward.

My phone rang in my pocket. I pulled it out and read the screen. 'Bassist Hood'

"Is that your replacement in case you didn't like me?" I heard Matty ask.

"It's my boyfriend," I replied.

"Mmhmm," He snapped his fingers.

I laughed and answered the call, "Hello."

"Oh, I didn't think you'd answer," he said taken aback.

"Why wouldn't I answer?" I asked.

"Well it's 5 in the morning in Australia, right?"

"Yea," I lied. Suddenly Aero turned up the music and everyone was singing loudly. I put my fingers to my ear to see if I could hear him better.

"DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME!" The three sang loudly.

"GUYS!" I shouted. "Turn down the music please."

They did when they saw I was serious. I returned to my conversation.

"Who was that?" Calum asked.

"Just some friends," I replied.

"At 5 in the morning? Baby, you're not getting into trouble right?"

"No, it's just that Logan wanted to go to this cool place that he said that sunrise looks great from, so I'm going to join him. I'm exhausted though. He woke he up about an hour ago," I played off the lie smoothly.

"That's too early!" Calum exclaimed, taking the lie.

"That's exactly what I told him!" I said.

We continued the conversation until he had to leave. We said our good byes and hung up.

"Still haven't told him," Adin said.

"Nope and I plan on not telling him, so go easy on the SnapChats that involve me."

"Haven't told who what?" Aero asked.

"Calum, my boyfriend doesn't know I'm in California. I came back from Australia after I got expelled for getting in a fight," I explained.

"So where's Calum?" Matty asked.

"The UK he's touring with his band," I replied.

"No way he's in a band too! What are they called?" Matty said amazed.

"Yea, they're called 5 Seconds of Summer. My brother's in the band as well."

Aero choked, "You're dating your brother's best friend/band mate?"

I nodded.

"And he's cool with it?"

I nodded again.

"Well, that's a first."

I laughed.

We pulled into my driveway once again and got out, I carried the drinks while the other's carried the bags. I unlocked the door and nearly tripped but I caught myself.

"That would've been our milkshakes on the floor!" Matty exclaimed.

"But I caught myself," I retorted.

"Sassy aren't we?" Matty said.

We set the food down on the table and sat on the chairs. After giving out the food we began to eat. We talked about our favorite bands and songs what songs mean to each other.

"Okay but honestly Brutal Love is my favorite Green Day song of all time!" I said.

"YES!" Aero exclaimed.

"It's beautiful and almost made me cry," I told Aero.

"It is," Aero agreed.

The front door unlocked and my dad opened the door. He stepped inside and stopped when he saw that there was two more boys sitting at the table.

"Hi Dad," I greeted.

"Hi baby," He kissed my forehead. "Hello Adin."

"Hi Andy," Adin greeted.

"Who are these two? Friends?" dad asked.

"Dad this is Matty Blaze and Aero Angelo, they're our bassist and lead singer for our band," I explained.

"Band huh? Gonna be just like Luke," Dad chuckled.

"Nah, I don't think we're ever going to officially have a big break, sir," Matty said.

"Call me Andy," Dad said.

"Well Andy, your daughter is a very talented drummer," Aero smiled.

"She can sing too," Dad added.

Aero and Matty looked at me.

"She never told us," Aero arched his brow. I tried to hide my laugh.

"So what is your band's name?" Dad asked.

We all exchanged looks when we realized we didn't have a band name. Let the hardest process begin.
