22. Chapter 22 : The Morning After

Luke's POV

I opened my eyes. It was morning. Yesterday was fun, great to just relax and have no worries.

I pushed myself off my bed and made my way downstairs. Calum was sleeping on the couch. He was cuddling a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey.

I repeat. He was cuddling a bottle of whiskey.

Shaking my head, I went over and slowly took the bottle from his grasp. He suddenly moved and I stopped, but I continued when he stopped moving.

I finally managed to get the bottle from his arms.

"No, Helen don't leave," He mumbled.

I looked at him and started to laugh. I held the bottle in my hand and made my way to the kitchen. Calum stirred no more.

I was useless in the kitchen. Having no cooking skills really sucks. I'm not Helen, who can whip up 15 pancakes in 20 minutes.

Ashton was somewhat of a cook. He would definitely be helpful during this next month of us living in this house.

I heard a groan. I poked my head around the corner. Calum was sitting up and rubbing his face.

"Do you want your cuddle buddy back?" I asked.

I picked up the bottle of whiskey, "you were hugging this when I came downstairs."

"I was?" He asked.

I nodded.

"How drunk was I?" He asked.

"Drunk enough to ask my sister for nudes," I replied.

His eyes widened. "I'm sorry Luke. I didn't mean to and I wasn't thinking straight." He said quickly.

"it's fine, but you should really call her," I replied.

"Okay, I will," he said.

With that, our conversation ended.

Calum's POV

I really shouldn't have had all that liquor. I can't believe I asked her for nudes!

My phone was to my ear and I was waiting impatiently for her to answer.

"I'm guessing you're sober," she said.

"Did I really ask you for nudes?" I asked ashamed.

"Well you asked when I was going to send the nudes I promised," she replied.

I laughed, even though I probably shouldn't have. Helen laughed along with me.

"did you remember?" She asked.

"No, Luke told me," I replied.

"Ah, I see. No wonder because usually when you get drunk you don't remember a thing," she said.

"Yea. What else did I do?" I asked.

"Well, you said you'd send me a screen shot of the text that says I promised you nudes," she replied.

"Okay," I said slowly.

"So where is my screen shot Hood?" She asked.

I started laughing and rubbed the back of my neck.

"Can't believe I did that," I said.

"Well believe it honey," Helen said.

"Sweetheart, I'm really sorry."

She started giggling, "Its fine Calum. Kinda funny actually."

We both laughed like crazy people.

"Oh by the way, I love your song Over and Over," She said.

"Do you really?" I asked.

"Yes! It's beautiful and the lyrics are amazing."

"But do you really replay every night over and over?" I asked cheekily.

"I in fact do replay over and over," she replied.

I smiled.

"And maybe we really are fading," she whispered.

I bit my lip, "C'mon Helen, don't say that."

"But am I right? Or am I wrong?" She asked.

"You're wrong baby," I replied.

She said nothing.

"I won't let your name fade, I just won't goddammit," I said sternly.

"Calum, if you love me hardcore, then don't walk away. It's a game boy, I don't wanna play. I just want you to be mine. Like I always said, never let me go."

"I won't darling. I'll never let you go. Not yet, not now, not ever."
