"EVELYN, hurry up. The trucks ready to go."

Hi, I'm Evelyn. This is how it all started. I was in my room, my mom called me downstairs. Paper work and bills scattered across the kitchen table. I could tell in my moms tone of voice something wasn't right.

"Evelyn, are credit card was hacked, and now we don't have any money for rent or any other payments. We have to sell the house," mom said trying to hold back the tears.

My heart dropped into a million pieces. Who would hack are credit card? I wondered. Mom just told Rachel-my little sister-we just were moving. Rachel's only 7. She knew nothing of our financial issue.

"Coming mom!" I hollered back at her.

The reason I didn't want to leave was I grew up my whole life. I didn't argue with mom about it because she was already upset with Rachel throwing a fit about leaving. Only if she knew why we were leaving, maybe she'd stop giving mom a hard time.

"Mom, how far is this place?" I asked quiet and carefully trying not to upset her.

Mom did't reply. About five minutes later, mom turns left onto a dirt driveway. We had been driving on it for a few minutes now. Finally, we pulled up to a giant brown house in the middle of no where. I mean, I'm not surprised if I saw a tumble weed roll by It was that in closed.

The next day mom had still been in bed. She was pretty upset about leaving are old house. Rachel woke me up wanting breakfast. It was 9:35 in the morning. I slipped on my shorts and slippers. I went down stairs into the kitchen. I opened the freezer and it was room temperature in there.

"Really," I said aloud.

I looked behind the fridge and it wasn't even plugged in. Rachel's frozen waffles were now soggy and gross. I woke mom up and told her the food was bad. Mom sighed as she pulled the covers off her waist. I knew she loved us more than herself. She always made sure there was food on the table every morning, afternoon, and evening.

"I'll go and get some groceries with Rachel, you coming?" mom said with a fake smile plastered across her face.

I knew she was trying her best to be a good parent for us.

"No thanks, I think I'm just gonna un pack and shower." I responded in a comforting tone of voice.

"Are you sure honey?" mom questioned. "Do you need anything from the store?"

"Im fine." I said.

After mom and Rachel left, I headed upstairs to my room. I had my own bathroom. I went into the old water smelling room. There was an antique semi white clawfoot tub. No shower head. I cleaned the tub with bleach. I turned the handle on the faucet. It squeaked and took a minute for the water to run. No body must have lived here for a long time because the water coming out of the faucet had rust in it. The water turned normal once again after years of being abandoned. While the water was running, I slid my shorts off and took my shirt off. I've always had a thin, tall, and tan-ish body. I just stood there and looked at my body in the mirror. I quickly turned around and almost forgot the tub filling up. I turned off the faucet and climbed in. It felt good to sit in a roomy tub filled with soapy hot water. I was in deep thought until I was done. I wrapped myself in a soft green towel. I went to my room and opened my still un packed clothes from my suit case. I put on a t-shirt with a Scottish terrier on it and a pair of sweat pants on. I ran to the two way stair case. I went down and saw mom just standing there looking at the kitchen.

"Evelyn Elizabeth! what did you do?" mom asked angrily.

"What?" I said confused.

I walked to the kitchen. I couldn't believe it.
