The Kroft Family - The Murder of One

-The First Book in the Kroft Series-
Michael Kroft's life wasn't perfect. He shared a home with his irritating sisters Flo and Dianne and annoying older brother George. His father was an alcoholic with anger issues, and his mother was pregnant with, yet another girl.
Then Alice was born.
And things went from bad to worse.
Because Alice wasn't Alice Kroft, she was Alice Peters.
And the day his father found out, his mother was murdered.
Now with his dad the prime suspect of a murder investigation, Drew Peters asking for 'his daughter' back, and social services against them, Michael must unite his siblings so they can raise Alice as a Kroft, and keep Drew Peters grubby hands off her.

20. Over

It was all over.

Finally, the mystery had been solved, and by me of all people. After Drew was successfully charged, Zach moved in with us, and we became a family of 7 once more. George went to University, and managed to happily graduate with a degree in teaching, and later became a PE teacher and football coach for a couple the local children's teams. Flo eventually left too, taking on a business apprenticeship and going on to be a shop manager of a department store, happily married with two children of her own. Dianne and Zach studied abroad, after taking a gap year to travel together. Then Dianne came back to go to University, but Zach stayed abroad, and they lasted two months in a long distance relationship. Nowadays, Dianne works in stage management. Alice just celebrated her 16th birthday, and is planning to go to sixth form and take 4 A-levels, mostly surrounding Media and Literature. Dad is in a home now, upon turning 59 last month, and we all try to visit regularly.

And then there's me.

I'm 28, and employed as an Inspector in the police force in London, solving murder mysteries day by day, and filling out lots paperwork.

I know mum would be proud.
