8. Work and Whining Babies

Alexis was working at the spa today as she didn't have a class. She started work at 10am so she had to get up earlier to feed Aubree and actually get to see her before she worked until 5:30. Seeing as she couldn't rely on Ben to care for his own daughter, she had go leave Aubree with her aunt and she felt guilty every time she drove of to work as her aunt was stuck with a toddler for 6 and a half hours each day she worked.

Aubree really wasn't cooperating with Alexis this morning and she was being a whining little madam. "Aubree, get up!" Alexis yelled. "Tired!" Aubree mumbled, sounding exactly like Alexis used to before she got pregnant. "Aubree, I've got work and I want to see you before I go too work." Alexis whined. "Tired. Go away mommy." Aubree mumbled. "Aubree Ava, get up now or I will go and get a bucket of cold water!" Alexis yelled. "No mommy!" Aubree screa!ed beginning to cry. "I was joking, baby. Come on, I'll make you nutella pancakes and then you can go back to sleep in front of the TV." Alexis said, picking Aubree up and taking her downstairs to the kitchen where her aunt and cousin Dani were sat drinking coffee. "Morning, Miss Aubree." Her aunt, Joan said. "Good morning." She yawned. "Tired?" Dani asked. "Yes, both of us are!" Alexis laughed. "When you at work, Lex?" Joan asked. "10, I wanted to see her before I went because she would sleep until 10 normally." Alexis said. "We were gonna go shopping today if that's OK with you." Joan asked. "Yea, I'll give you some money for Aubs." Alexis said grabbing her already empty purse. "No Lex, its on me." "No aunt Joan, you do enough already." Alexis said handing her 30 dollars. "Put that back Alexis Carter. You need that money for yourself, its my treat Lex." She said. "Your the best." Alexis said, hugging her aunt and kissing her cheek. "What would you do without me?" Joan joked.

After feeding her very whiny baby, she had to head to work. She was so greatful to have her aunt Joan's help through all of this. She was the one who took her and a newborn in, she was the one who helped her pay for Aubree's things of she didn't have the money, she was the one who tried to work things out with Alexis' parents when she was down about them not seeing their grandchild. She didn't deserve the family she had in Joan and Dani.
