Too good to be true

"Do you actually love me?" I cried, dreading to hear the answer.
"Yes," he mumbled, walking out the door. Was this the last time?

Maya and Dan weren't the most predictable couple around. She was a pretty, preppy girl, and him... Well, he was very different.

Was this destined to fail?

22. Chapter 22

Dan's POV

I woke up in the morning as someone slammed the front door shut, I wasn't sure who, but they did not seem happy. It could have been Maya, probably not Phil.

"Dan!" Phil shouted up to me, running loudly up the stairs, until he got to my door. "Maya's here, you should probably talk."

"Yep, thanks." I hopped off the chair that I fell asleep on, and began running downstairs.

"She doesn't seem happy, In case the slamming door didn't give that away!"

"Hi, Maya." I greeted her nicely, I still wanted to be friends with her.

"Hello," She replied abruptly.

"How are you?" I tried to make conversation, this was getting very awkward.

"I'm just great, thanks."

"Are you sure?" I could hear the obvious sarcasm in her voice.

"No." She lunged forward and hugged me.

"Maya, I'm sorry, I needed to talk to you, before you found out, because I still wanted to be friends with you." I started explaining what I was trying to do.

After about an hour, we'd made up, and were friends again. Then, We walked upstairs together to get breakfast. It took a while for our friendship to be as good as it was before we were in a relationship, but it eventually got better, and she accepted me and Phil. We were a family again, Me, Phil, Maya, and of course the Lions.

Oh, wow this was short. I'm changing this to completed, and I wont be updating this story anymore. I'm thinking of doing a sequel, where I actually focus on my grammar and sentences and stuff like that, so it's better to read, but I don't know.
