Ghostly experience

"You will never influence the world by being just like it." - Unknown

Ever since Amanda was a little girl she knew that she was able to see dead people. But as the years went by, and the power got stronger and stronger, she was able to hear what others couldn't, and talk to whom others wanted to.

8. Chapter 7

I was standing in front of a beautiful house. It was big too. Like big-big; a mansion. It's now or never, I thought to myself and walked up the few stair to the front door. I knocked and heard it echo on the other side. I waited.

Finally the door opened after a few minites"of silence.

"Hello..?" A middle aged woman opened the door. Her hair is grey, and I'm positive she's in her late fifties.

"Hi! I'm Amanda Blue, and I here to speak to Meredith. Does she live around here?" I asked, a sudden confident rushed through me. The lady looked at me up and down before closing the door in my face.

"Oh." Hmm..

"Don't be so rude! Gosh," I heard another woman said behind the door. I was about to turn around and walk away, when the door opened once again.

"Hello, how can I help you?" I looked at the picture Keith gave me, and then up at the woman once again. I did that a few time before talking.

"Yes you can actually! Have you seen this girl around here?" I asked and showed her the old, torn up picture of Meredith. The woman's smile dropped when she looked at the photo. A tear fell from her cheek and she looked up at me again.

"Come in," she whispered. She gestured for me to come in, and I did. "Keep your shoes on."

I followed her into her enormous kitchen and sat beside her on one of the bar stools.

"How do you have this?" The woman (I still don't know the name of) asked in a low voice. I stuttered, trying to form a real sentence.

"I-I.. Keith gave it to me," I finally said and held eyes contact with her. Her eyes widen and she shook her head in disbelief.

"What, that can't be true! He died 30 years ago," the women exclaimed sternly. I tensed. This was Meredith!

"Is this little girl you 30 years ago?" Meredith nodded and a tear fell from her cheek. "And this is you're older brother Keith?" I pointed to Keith beside the little girl on the picture.

"Yeah," she answered in a low whisper and smiled a small smile. I didn't need to be a neuroscientist to know, that she really loved him.

"What would you say, if I told you Keith still is in our world?" I asked in a low voice. Her head snapped up, and if looks could kill, I would be as dead as Keith.

"Don't mess with me like that!"

"I promise I'm not messing with you Meredith!" I said calmly and sternly.

"Can I see him?" She asked hopeful. I looked at her apoligizingly

"Ever since I was a little girl, I've been able to talk and see dead people. It's this really weird gift I have. And Keith gave me that picture." I pointed to the picture in her shaking hands. "But I'm sorry." She nodded, understanding what I meant.

"I can't believe you found her.." I jumped and shrieked. Meredith looked at me cautiously.

"He's here," I whispered, covering my face.

"Really?" Meredith whispered. I nodded and opened my eyes. I looked at Keith. He looked lovingly at her like a big brother normally would, when he saw his little sister.

"Come on," I said softly and gestured for Keith to come closer. This situation couldn't be any worst.
