Parsley's Poem of the Day

HELLO! Welcome to my not-so-brand-new poetry collection! I will publish a new poem on here every day (all being well) for your enjoyment! If you want me to feature one of your poems don't hesitate to ask, otherwise they will all originate from the darkest depths of my mind.
Thanks to @SnowyWriter. for the idea!
If there's a poem you particularly like or dislike, let me know so I know what type of poem you prefer.
Enjoy! All poems ©Parsavagely 2014 - 2017 (excluding 'featured' poems)

Today I was witness,

To excited young minds,

And the ripping of paper,

To see what they'd find,

To learn if they were valued,

If the world in which they lived,

Would allow them to flourish,

Or not care what they give,

On that small piece of paper,

Was held both tears of relief,

And the gut-wrenching groans,

That were coupled with grief,

And they knew then,

From a few letters on that page,

If they'd be changing the world,

Or on minimum wage,

Because of course the quality,

Of a young person aiming high,

Is determined by if on one day,

They got the question right.
