32. Introducing Staghp81 The Potterhead

Username: Staghp81 The potterhead
Name: Cecelia
Country: America

At what age did you start writing?
When I was younger, I would always write stories and make them into "books" with illustrations and everything. Even though I guess it still was considered writing, I started writing stories that actually made sense in about second grade. I would even type them up and share them with the class.

What inspires you to start writing?
Well, what inspired me to start writing on Movellas was Harry Potter. I know that sounds lame, but for a while, all I did on Movellas was read Harry Potter fanfictions. All of them were so good, I had to try writing myself. So I wrote Something Different. One Movella turned into another, and then another, and then another!

How do you beat writers block?
Ugh, I hate writer's block! I write many stories a week, so I get it quite often. Usually I plan the main parts of the story in my head already, and then all I have to do is write the smaller details. When handling writer's block, usually what I do is try to remember what I already planned in my head to happen next, and then fill in details that would make sense. I just take it slow. I go through everything in my head carefully for what would make sense to happen next.

Do you consider to be writing to be a serious career choice?
Yes I do! Writing is a full time job! When I don't have school, I spend all day on Movellas. On the days I do have school, I come home, and go on Movellas right away. I honestly don't do anything else. Of course, writing is what I want to do for a living! In my opinion, it is definitely a serious career choice.

What advice would you give to first-time writers?
Just keep going. Even if people give you a hard time about your work (constructive criticism is different), don't let them bring you down. Just keep doing what you love, and never give up.

What's your advice for the next ambassadors after you?
You can't give up on your job! Being an ambassador is very important and time consuming. You have to stay on top.

What's your motivation to be ambassador?
Seeing how much the ambassadors did for the website and wanting to do it too.

What's the most embarrassing moment of your life so far?
That's a tough one. To be honest, all the moments in my life that I thought were the most embarrassing in the world really weren't that bad once I look back on them. I think my most embarrassing moment was when I was in school and my pants fell dow in front of my whole class. It didn't bother me that much, but if it happened to me now, I'd be mortified. But I was four, so..

What's gotten you into writing?
Being so inspired by all the other amazing Harry Potter fanfictions, and wanting to write one that people always looked forward to reading.

What's your favourite genre of films and books?
I'm a fantasy girl. I adore a good fantasy book, I'll devour every single one in a library. I'm the same way with films. Classics, like Star Trek, Star Wars, and of course Harry Potter. The Giver, books and the movie are pretty amazing, If that's considered fantasy?

What's your favourite film?
I love the Harry Potter films, The Giver, when I was younger I loved Coraline, and I still like it. I admittedly do like some comedies, like Mean Girls, and Pitch Perfect.

What got you into reading?
My school would send home these catalogs, that you could order books from. I would look through them and want every single book in them. I looked forward every month for when my school sent them home. I still quite enjoy getting books from them, actually.

What age did you start reading?
I learned to read when I was four, but I actually started reading chapter books in first grade, stuff like Rainbow Magic.

Favourite singer, band?
I have lots of favorite. I love Bridgit Mendler, Karmin, Little Mix, Taylor Swift, and of course, The Beatles.

Favourite song?
I'd have to say All About The Bass by Megan Trainer, and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.

What music inspires you?
Little Mix's songs are so inspiring! Their songs don't have ordinary meanings, but lyrics about staying true to yourself and others.

Can you give old and new movellians advice?
Have fun! Movellas was designed to be a place for having the best time possible, reading and writing stories. You should have fun while your writing!

Do you have some advice for the ambassadors after you?
Being an ambassador is tons of fun! You get to help other Movellians and the site. Just make sure to stay on top of your job, it's very important. I hope to see you on the team soon!

Favourite Quote?
"Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one just remembers to turn on the light." ~Albus Dumbledore

Advice for bullied people, who gives up fighting?
Don't listen to them! They don't know you, they don't even know they're bullies. They don't know themselves.

Best childhood memory?
Going to San Diego (a part of California) and seeing all the beautiful nature with my Dad and uncle.
