It All Starts At The End

Party's, Boyfriend's, Friend's & Family were all over rated for Marina Smith. She had herself and that's all she needed. The one's she adored ignored her, and the ones who adored her she ignored, until one sunny morning when she awoke to find that everything really begins at the end.

11. Chapter Ten

Alex was 7, Matt & I were 27. Everything was great. Alex had finally broken up for the summer holidays and we were going away on a road trip for the week to celebrate Matt's birthday. I thought it was going to be amazing. I thought it was going to be a week to remember. But it was a week that we didn't have a car ride to remember.

We buckled up our seat-belts and hit the road. We were secretly going to the airport to go to 'Disney Land Florida' and the weather was beautiful. We laughed and talked and laughed some more. 4 hours to get to the airport and only 30 minutes of the drive had gone by. Another 30 minutes and we'll be on the motorway I though. Perfect.

"Alex hun, if you're tired go to sleep. Oh and does anyone want some McDonalds before I go onto the motorway, well be on there for 1 hour." I said impatiently.

"No thanks mom." Alex piped up.

"No thank you babe." Matt said as he reached for my hand.

Only an hour on the motorway... I thought. Shouldn't be too bad... I thought. Time will fly by... I thought. But never did I know.

I knew I hated motorways and this was the reason for it. I was driving along going 65 mph when the limit is 70 mph and this truck comes right up my ass.

As I looked up in my rearview mirror I noticed the other truck in front of me break, but not quick enough.

The car got compressed between the two trucks as the one up my ass crashed into me due to the lack of time I had to give notice that I was breaking and the one in front of me came to a complete stand still without me realising quick enough.

I heard the sirens of each different emergency service as they approached before I completely blacked out.

I thought I'd wake up, but I didn't, and I knew that the three of us were dead.
