9. Chapter 8

As soon as I reached home, I got a call from Ashley asking me to attend the premiere as a paid work event. He actually stood true to his word. A part of me really wanted to decline. It was the end of a really long week at work and all I wanted to do now was to curl up in bed with ice cream and read a good book. But another part of me did not want to waste the opportunity. God, knows what he had to do to persuade them to pay me for going. I did not want to seem ungrateful, and as I said earlier, I could really use the extra money. So reluctantly, but surely, I accepted the offer. When Taylor came in, the first thing I asked her was, “How would you like to go to One Direction’s movie premiere?” She started to jump up and down while running to hug me.

“Oh my god, every hot celebrity is here.” Taylor whispered to me.

I just smiled and continue walking. She would know. I don’t really care.

I looked around for Louis. I just wanted to thank him, so that I do not seem ungrateful.

When I finally spotted him, he was on the red carpet taking pictures with the other guys. I guess I just have to wait.

“Are you going to introduce me?” Taylor pressed while snapping me out of my staring.

“To?” I replied.

“The guys.” She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Well, I don’t really know them that well.” I responded.

She gave me an “oh, really” look. I just walked away.

I showed a security guard my work ID and gained access to backstage.

“I told you that taking this job was a good idea.” Taylor commented while we entered backstage.

After about 30 minutes of feeling awkward and out of place, the boys finally came back stage.

Louis glanced at me and I gave him a slight smile and wave.

“I thought you didn’t know them that well.” Taylor stated while looking between Louis and me.

Before I could respond, Louis started to walk over. I tried not to freak out. I did not expect him to walk over, and I hate having spontaneous conversations.

Should I pretend that I didn’t see him and just walk to the bathroom? No, he definitely knew that I saw him. I guess I am stuck then.

“You came.” He exclaimed while proceeding to hug me.

Well that was unexpected. I did not know how to react so I just stood awkwardly, not returning the hug. Why was he so friendly to me now?

“Hi.” I said when he pulled away from the hug. “Thanks.” I continued with a smile.

He returned the smile.

Taylor then purposely cleared her throat to draw our attention.

“Oh, this is my friend, Taylor. Taylor, this is Louis.” I introduced them.

Louis politely shook Taylor hands while saying, “Nice to meet you, Taylor.”

Taylor just smiled excitingly. She was obviously trying to contain her happiness.

Louis stayed with us for a while, trying to entertain us with his jokes. I must admit he is kind of funny. Taylor laughed loudly to his jokes while I just smiled and chuckled softly.

His company was then interrupted by a woman who claimed that reporters wanted to interview him. He said a quick, “Glad to see you here.” Before walking away.

Taylor then complained that she had to go to the bathroom and asked for me to accompany her. I began to comply but while we were walking toward the female restroom, I got greeted by Liam.

“Hi Lily, I did not expect to see you here.” He started.

I looked over his shoulder to see Taylor rubbing her legs slightly together like she was dying to pee.

“Just go without me. I’ll catch up.” I proclaimed to her. She then ran off.

Liam turned to look at who I was addressing but turned back immediately as Taylor went away.

“Well, Louis got them to make it a work event for me.” I stated while looking up at him.

“Oh, Louis. You guys seem close now.” He responded while looking down on his feet.

“We really aren’t.” I immediately rebutted. I don’t want them getting the idea that I wanted to close to any of them.

I can image how many girls and people in general tries to get close them because of their status and how annoying it can become for them. I don’t want them to think as me like one of those people, because I am not.

He smiled slightly. “I wasn’t saying it like it was a bad thing.” He stated.

“I did not say you were. I’m just saying we are not…close.” I responded.

He nodded.

“Are you coming to the after-party?” He asked.

Absolutely not. I’m already rocking the boat by being here. I need to go home and have my alone time before I passed out from over-socializing.

“I can’t. Sorry. It’s late and I have work tomorrow.” I stated while glancing at my watch.

“Oh, right.” He stated while slowly nodding.

I smiled while stating, “I have to go find Taylor. Have a good night, and congrats on the movie.”

“Thanks. Yeah, go.” He replied while stepping to the side.

I smiled at him one last time before going off. As I walked away, I could see him from my side vision. He was standing in the same position staring at me. I felt a feeling of déjà vu in that moment.
