~~Maeve’s POV:

I wake up to the sound of an unfamiliar voice yelling. I open my eyes slowly, and look around. I’m still in the little cave, and a man is yelling to other people, saying he’s found something.

Oh, he’s talking about me. He hurries over to me and quickly cuffs my hands behind my back and then ties a blindfold around my eyes. He picks me up, and asks, “Now, how did you get here princess?”

I say, “I… I need to speak with Noah. Now.”

He chuckles, “You’ll get to speak with him alright. Don’t you worry about that.”

I feel a shiver run down my spine, but try to remain calm and keep my wits. I need to be in control of myself and the situation when I speak with Noah, otherwise I’m not sure I’ll be able to negotiate with him and make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone. He might not take me seriously if I’m scared and upset… or, at least if I let him see that.

When we finally reach the castle, I’m taken inside to the throne room. The man who found me carries me inside and dumps me on the ground and shoves me so that I’m on my knees before taking the blind fold off my eyes.

Noah is sitting on my father’s throne smirking at me. He chuckles, “Well, how nice of you to drop by and see me princess.”

I don’t say anything, and so he stands and comes over so he’s right in front of me. He takes my chin in his hand and forces me to look up at him. He asks, “Is there a reason you’re here Maeve?”

I take a deep breath and say, “I’m here, and I don’t care what happens to me, but if you want me to cooperate, you can’t hurt anyone else. I’ll stay and I’ll do whatever you want me to, but you can’t keep hurting innocent people.”

He laughs a little bit and says, “I thoroughly enjoy the fact that you think you can tell me what to do. You’re on your knees in front of me, handcuffed, and completely at my mercy princess, you do understand that, correct?”

I nod a bit and say, “I mean it Noah. Otherwise I’ll never stop fighting you. I’ll make your life a living hell.”

He nods, “You’ve got the audacity to speak to me like that… It’s incredible. Well, if that’s all it takes, we’ll have you fitted for a new dress and married before you can change that pretty little mind of yours.”

I inwardly sigh in relief, happy that no one else will be hurt because of me. I know I’ve got a long road of misery ahead of me, but I suppose one person suffering is a lot better than thousands and thousands of people.

Noah runs his hand through my hair and says happily, “I knew you’d come around princess.”

I say quickly, “You have to promise. Swear that you won’t hurt anyone else. Right now.”

He rolls his eyes and puts his right hand up and his left on a Bible kept by my father’s throne. He says, “I swear to you princess.”

I nod a bit, and he says dismissively, “Guards, take her down to the dungeon. You can put her in the same cell we kept her precious body guard in.”

Two guards come over, and one pulls me up by my hair while the other grabs my arm in an extremely tight grip. I try to make them loosen their grips in vain, and a few minutes later, I’m locked in a cell in the dungeon. I just lie down on the floor and close my eyes, hoping that this was the right decision.
