She's not Afraid

Charlie Evergreen isn't your average 19 year old. She was taken when she was thirteen, kidnapped by some of her closest friends. She was taken to a secret compound, far in the merciless regions of the Mojave Desert.
That's when the truth came out. That almost 500 children are taken every year, mostly from poorer homes. The agency Charlie was at, had missions to retrieve those kids, to step in when the police failed.
So she joins. When she turns 19, she gets a mission. To kidnap Niall Horan, world-famous boy band star, and recruit him. How hard can it be?

38. Epilogue

I lived. I died. I laughed. I cried. Life went on. I didn't want it to, at first. But life is like a roller coaster, it keeps going on and scaring you to death with precarious twists and turns, but it's ceaseless.

It's safe to say I never got over Chloe. She was my best friend, basically my rock. Neither did the rest of us, Sara still gets nightmares where she sees Chloe get blown up.

Sara and Harry stayed a power couple. Rare fights dotted their relationship, but they were almost attached at the hip, inseparable.

Sydney and Louis never got back together. After the whole ordeal, Louis returned to England, Manchester to be exact. He ran into Eleanor, his ex. Their love rekindled, and Elounor returned, much to Sydney's happiness. Sydney found love with a new band member, from Five Seconds of Summer, Calum Hood.

Zayn seemed to blame himself for Chloe's death. In reality, the guilt he carried belonged to me. He almost became an alcoholic, but then he got reacquainted with his ex, Perrie. The two started a friendship, which bloomed into a relationship.

Liam and Megan broke up a few years ago. They just called it quits, the strain becoming too much for them. Barely six months later, Liam showed up on her doorstep, begging for another chance, which she gladly accepted.

Lastly, there was Niall and I. After Chloe being gone, I was shattered beyond repair. There were nights where the recurring nightmares (similar to Sara's) would haunt me. Niall stayed by my side through it all, despite the obvious fact that he'd be better off without me.

In the beginning, I refused any form of relationship. But Niall was undaunted by that. Soon, I let him break down my walls and we started to date again.

So I got my bittersweet happy ending. Life wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close. And in my many years of hardship, pretty close felt fantastic.
