Beacon Hills has always had that sort of Twilight feel to it, but after living in the town for 16 years, Elaine never expected any of this to happen, not to her at least. (Teen Wolf fanfiction)

1. Lockets and wolves.

“Are you even sure about this?” I whispered, pointing my torch in my best friend’s direction. “Look, I was running along this exact path earlier today and I lost my lucky locket, I’m not leaving until I find it!” Wren whispered in a rough tone. “Why can’t we just come back when it’s daylight? You know I like to sleep and you know how scared I am of these goddamn woods,” I told her, I was so annoyed with her, I had a biology exam the next day and honestly, walking through the woods in the middle of the night looking for a silly locket was the last thing I wanted to do. I just wanted to sleep. “You know what, Elaine? If being here is such a burden, why don’t you just go home?” Wren told me, I could see her jaw clench in the faint light of my torch. “I’m not leaving you here alone,” I told her, I may have been annoyed but surely I was not ready to leave my friend wandering around the woods in the middle of the night with nothing but a torch to keep her safe. I knew for a fact that something would go wrong and I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life hating myself for abandoning my best friend in the woods just because I wanted to rest, even though I could barely keep my eyes open.

“Wait, I think I see something over there,” was the last thing I heard before I heard Wren shriek and run. Then I saw them, two big yellow animal-like eyes and a snarling mouth. FUCK. Wren had already made a run for it, and I was there. Just standing there, completely immobile and in shock. This strange wolf creature was making its way towards me and I had no idea what to do, it seemed angry so I presumed that shining a torch light in its face would make it even angrier. I started walking away slowly but the wolf wasn’t going to let me go that easily. It pounced on me, towering me, it bit me on my left hip. As its teeth dug into my skin, I blacked out. I could still feel the excruciating pain but I had no idea what happened next. All I know is that the next morning I woke up in my bed, with leaves in my hair and tremendous hip pain.

It was still very early in the morning so I made my way to the bathroom and cleaned up the wound. I had a bit of basic first aid training so I had somewhat of an idea of what to do, after all it was just an ordinary wolf bite, right?
