My King

Jessica Gallopsby was a shy young Alicorn. She had always been this way. Infact,
the only thing to ever bring her out of her bubble was a young kolt by the name of
Sombra. He befriended her when they were only fillys, and their friendship only changed
when Sombra changed. When Sombra became cursed and began to take over The Crystal Empire, Jessica had to suffer, as he didn't seem to remember his old friend. She became a slave like the other Crystal ponies for many years, having to now call him King Sombra. Life was torturous until Princess Celestia and Princess Luna banished King Sombra, who took the Crystal Empire with him. After 1000 years the Crystal Empire finally returned, and thanks to 6 young mares, Jessica began to regain her memories. But after being so called destroyed by the Crystal Heart forever, all the Crystal ponies feel safe once more. But Princess Celestia has plans for Jessica that will change her life forever...

7. Slavery

It had only been a few days, but it now seemed like forever. King Sombra had forced us to all the Crystal Ponies to build him fine metal armour fit for a king. He now wore a metal crown with two red horns, and a metal jewel in the middle. With this crown he really did look like a king, but it didn't stop there. He then forced up to make him armour for his chest, and metal shoes to go with it. We Crystal Ponies used our finest strongest metal to keep him satisfied, in fear of being punished by torture. Now satisfied with his armour and crown, he made us make him a red robe, with wite lining, and black dots for decorative purposes. We Crystal Ponies had to use our finest materials to make that robe. But King Sombra was never satisfied it seemed. As long as he kept giving out commands, he felt like a true ruler. He brought stone statues of royal guards to life, their eyes glowing green like him, and they stood on guard constantly, so nopony could get near enough to attack him. As he stood on the balcony of the Crystal Palace where our Princess once stood, I felt even more hope leaving my body. But for some strange reason I had more hope than any other pony. All the Crystal ponies around me had lost their sparkle, their manes and tails now drooping depressingly. They looked at the ground, frowns upon their faces, fur dimmed with sadness, like living zombie ponies. But my bright colours appeared to remain. Maybe I was still hoping the Sombra I know and love will return to me eventually.

King Sombra had us all tied together by metal chains he made us make. He got us mining down in caves, all tied to one another dangerously. We had to carry heavy pickaxes, cutting into the stone day and night. King Sombra was obsessed with Crystals, and insisted on having them all. The carts we pulled were very heavy, and made of hard metal. They were not easy to pull, and the chains cut into your shoulders, leaving you sore when the job was done. If we didn't have a cartfull each day, King Sombra would torture us with a spell that made you feel like you were being stabbed all over until he broke the spell. I have failed to bring a cartfull back a couple times, and he has yet to torture me. This makes me believe that the Sombra within the King Sombra is strong enough to bend free will just a little. Maybe the freewill shall get stronger over time? All I can do is hope, for me, for Sombra, and for all the Crystal Ponies sakes. When we had finished our long shift, all hot and exausted from having no breaks all day or all night, we would all get shut away deep underground seperately in the darkness. If I wasn't scared of the dark, I certainly am now! I would lie there, all tangled in chains, tears trickling down my face. I havn't seen my parents since the day me and Sombra broke into the library. Oh why did Sombra have to read that blasted book!!!! I closed my eyes, preparing for hard work tommorow. All fun had been drained from our world, and the Crystal Empire was covered in black shards of crystals spurting out of the ground, like a huge Empire sized prison cell.
