Bobby's POV

I knew something blew Emily off the hinges. I could feel it. I swerve around and drive back to her house. I had to talk to her. I muster up as much courage as I could and knock on the door. The door opens and I automatically smile. Then I see the scowling face of Mr. Harbor. "Hello, Bobby." He spits at me, my name sounding like venom through his lips. I struggle to maintain my smile. "Good Afternoon Mr. Harbor. May I speak to Emily? Something's been bothering her." A smile bursts on to his face. "Oh you didn't know? She went shopping with Brooke and her mother. She said she told you but I guess......" He sighs happily and I tighten my jaw, narrowing my eyes. "Can I come in? I left something in her room the last time I slept there." The smile comes clean off his face but he lets me in. I stride up the steps and close her bedroom door. Something in here had to do with her. I look under her bed, her pillows, her drawers, her chairs, even in the window seat. Nothing. But then I see light coming from the bathroom. I'm praying that it isn't what I think it is, a spear or a shard of glass caked with blood. "She didn't cut herself. She didn't cut herself." I mutter over and over, pushing open the door. I breathe out in relief. At least there was no evidence. The bathroom was a polished blue, everything sealed and tightly locked. I feel a pang as I see the ring I proposed to her with and the ring I bought her was sitting on the side of the sink. I'm about to leave when I see something white on the lid of the toilet seat. When I pick it up, I have to rub my eyes as I stare at it harder. Was this......a pregnancy test? I look at he seal and swallow hard. My stomach caves in and I drop the stick on the ground, running my hands through my hair. Emily was pregnant. I hunch over the sink and control my breathing, rocking back and forth. She knew she was holding my child and didn't tell me. I clean up the place to make it look normal, then I run downstairs and out the door without saying goodbye to her father. I just drive and drive, not caring where I was going, wishing the ground would just swallow me up.
