"I promise I will keep you safe and protect you," he said. "I don't know Louis. I'm scared of what will happen," I said. "Brooke, I promise you I will always be here for you no matter what," he said. "What will Harry even say?" I asked. "Doesn't matter. I love you too much to not have you," he said. A tear slipped from my eye. "I will never leave you," he murmured. "Do you trust me?" "I trust you."

Fight For You Chapter 25

Brooke's Pov:

"So..." Louis trailed off. "So," I awkwardly said. "So," he repeated, making me laugh. "I'm guessing Gemma set this up," I said. "Yeah," he nervously said. "What did she tell you?" I asked. "She said that I was meeting Harry up for something important. What did she say to you?" he said. "She told me I was having dinner with Harry for a brotherly-sisterly date," I said. "Now that I think of this, I think Gemma set this up and Harry has no idea about this," he said. "I guess we will be having dinner tonight together," I said. "From the looks of it, I think yes," he said.

We clinked our wine glasses together and took a sip. In mine was just ice water and in his was some special red wine. I didn't care for wine or anything related to alcohol. I hated it and I hate when other people drink it. The thought of it disgusts me.

"How are things?" I asked. "Good actually," he said. "Anything new?" I asked. "Not much is happening," he said. "We have been here for three days or so." "We only have been together for those three days," I said, I let out a giggle which caused him to laugh too.

We fell silent as we continued to look through the dessert menu (it was for later) but something else was distracting me and was on my mind. "Louis?" I said through the silence. "Yes," he said. "I have a question to ask you," I said. "Ask away," he said with a polite smile. "Now, I don't want to make this uncomfortable okay? If you don't want to answer my question then it is fine," I assured him. "Brooke, it's fine," he said, "ask me. I'm all for questions." He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "You can ask me anything," he said. His right eye dropped into a wink.

"Who is Eleanor?" I asked. "Eleanor Calder." His smile fell as he sat straight up and was unexpected with the question. The question was a great surprise to him. It had never crossed his mind. "Ah Eleanor Calder... I haven't heard that name in a long time," he said, he let out a soft sigh. "You don't have to answer," I said. "No, it's okay. She was an old ex-girlfriend of mine," he answered. "Why do you want to know?" He asked. I kept quiet as I did not know how I should respond. I couldn't say what Gemma and I were talking about or that I was jealous about the thought.

He raised an eyebrow at me as he waited for me to continue. I sighed. "I was talking to Harry and one of the boys brought up Eleanor as they were playing a video game," I lied. I was sure he could see right through my eyes. "They did?" he asked, he was suddenly curious to know. "What were they saying?" "Something about the break up," I said as I was not so convince with myself. He stared at me with a blank expression. We fell silent as he continued to look at me questioningly. He blinked a few times. "Brooke," he said. "Okay fine. That is not what happened," I admit. "What happened then? Why are you so curious to know about her?" he asked. He waited as he was bouncing his knee like he was impatient to know my answer but, he didn't seem uncomfortable in any way.

"Gemma talked about you up at the mall. We started talking about you and I then, I asked about Eleanor and we started talking about your last relationship with her. She said, 'she didn't know too much about her but she seemed like a nice girl,' and she showed me pictures of the two of you. You both looked so happy together and I wanted to know what happened. Then, she said, 'I should ask Harry or you but you would be a better option to ask.' Then, I asked 'wouldn't he feel uncomfortable if I ask about her' and she said, 'she didn't think you would.' Then we stopped talking about it and we continued our shopping," I rambled on telling him what happened, I rambled so much that I even accidentally slipped out that I was jealous in which he caught notice of it and I didn't but he didn't dare say anything.

He seemed amused by this, because a smirk was playing on his lips as he let it all sink in through his head. "What?" I asked. I was confused to why he acting like this. "What were you two talking about? Something about you and me?" he asked with a knowing smile. My cheeks turned bright red from embarrassment. He was very humored by all this. "I never said that," I brushed it off. "Brooke," he edged on. My cheeks turned even more red. "I can't say," I confessed. "Tell me! We are best friends here," he said. "It was about our relation- friendship."I quickly caught myself from embarrassing myself anymore. "Our friendship?" he asked slightly disappointed. "Yeah."

"What about it?" he asked, he suddenly wanted to know more. He was intrigue by this topic. "How close we are," I said, I was looking at everything but him. "And.... howcuteweare," I quickly mumbled the last part with my cheeks turning pink. "What was that?" he asked. "Nothing!" I exclaimed. I hung my head in embarrassment of that he might have heard. "Of how cute we are?" he asked. "No..." I murmured. He was about to say something but the food had arrived. "Oh! Uh... Look the food is here," I nervously said.

"Here is the chicken parmigiana," the waiter said. I raised my hand and said, "Right here." She handed me my food and placed it right in front of me. "And the tour of Italy," the waiter said. Louis nodded his head and the waiter placed the food in front of him. "I hope you enjoy," she said before walking away. "What did you get there?" I asked. "It's a mixture of lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine Alfredo," he said. "That sounds good," I hummed. "Do you want some?" he asked.

I shook my head and said, "I can't take your food." " I have almost the same thing as you," I said. "Here. Have a bite of the lasagna and fettuccine," he said as he picked up a fork and cut me a small pice of the lasagna for me He held out the fork for me. I looked at him a bit unsure but he nodded his head for me to take a bite so I did. I leaned forward and took a bite of the lasagna before he pulled back the fork. "Is it good?" he asked. I smiled and nodded. "It is amazing," I said. He smiled and spun the fettuccine on the fork for me. He fed me the fettuccine like he did with the lasagna. "Delicious. I should have ordered that instead," I said. "Next time when we come back. I will take you here," he said. I nodded with gratitude. I picked up my fork and took a bite of my chicken parmigiana.

"They have outstanding food here," Louis said. "They are known for it," I said. We ate in silence for a few moments till I noticed Louis was acting different which caused me to worry. He was shaking and nervously glancing up at me once in awhile. "Brooke?" he asked as he catches my attention. I looked up at him and swallowed my food. "Yes?" "There's something I need to tell you," he nervously spoke. He swallowed nervously. His eyes shown a hint of fear and rejection. I nodded for him to go on as I took another bite of my food. "I know I shouldn't be doing this," he muttered under his breath. "What? Louis? You can tell me," I said. He let out a shaky breath of air. "I have... known what Harry is getting you for awhile now. He is getting you a present and I was wondering if I should tell you," he nervously said. "A present?" I asked as he nodded.

I knew it was too good to be true. For a moment I thought he would have confessed to me about how he feels. I set my hopes up too high which made me think he has feelings for me. Maybe something between us would happen if he had confessed but I had to keep reminding myself that I'm only a friend. Like I said before and I will say it again. He has another girl he has his eye on and I probably don't even compare to how she is.

"Brooke?" He said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yeah," I whispered coming back to reality. "Are you crying?" he asked. "What?" I asked. I felt my cheeks to feel they were moist and wet. I grabbed the napkin and softly laughed. "Of course I am," I said. "Why?" he asked. Because I'm in love with you... "Harry got me a gift when he shouldn't have. That was so nice of him," I lied. I wiped under my eyes to remove any excess make up. The tears mixed in with the powder that was on my cheeks and so I wiped them away. "Yeah," he nervously said. "What did he get me?" I asked. "The new iPhone five," he quickly said. "Really? He shouldn't have," I gasp. "He is going to give it to you tomorrow at sometime," he said. "I won't tell him you told me," I said. "He thought you would need a new phone or an upgrade to your IPhone four." He shrugged his shoulders. "That is so nice of him."

"Anyways moving on from your present. Remember the first time we met and you bit my hand?" he asked with a loud laugh.I started to laugh too as I nodded. "Yes, because you scared me and I didn't know who you were," I said. "Remember how I was getting mobbed my fans and you ran away from me out front of Bob's BBQ?" he asked, his laugh growing louder. "Yes which hurt a lot when you ran into me," I said. "I was going to ask you if I could come in for a moment but you took off walking away from me," he said. "If I knew you then I would have totally let you in," I said.

"You gave me no time to tell you. You just left," he said. "That is a memory to remember," I said. "We met twice just the second time was an actual meeting," he said. "That was a fun time," I said. "I still can't believe that little run in brought us here," he said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Us becoming best friends. Sure we had a little fall out before but we still are best friends and eating dinner together," he said with a huge smile. "We are going stronger than ever." "Thank you Louis. For everything. I said it before and I'll say it again. You're amazing for helping me out. You really brought me out of my shell that I've been in forever," I admit. "Hey, that's what I'm here for," he said.

"What would you have done if I went back with Julie and David?" I asked. "To be honest, I would be heartbroken that you didn't want to stay with us anymore but I would have fought for you to come back. I wouldn't stand it with gone," he confessed. "Is Louis showing his sensitive side?" I teased. He blushed with a smile. "Next time I'll show you how manly I can be," he said. "I'm sure you are so manly," I teased him. "I am!" he exclaimed. "Yeah like calling Paul, Pauly D or when you blush," I teased. "I see when you are blushing." "Hey, cheeks always turn red at random time," he said. "You also blush too!"

"I do not," I argued. "Oh yeah?" He scooted over with a mischievous smile. And wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He leaned in close by ear and huskily whispered, "Hey baby girl. You're looking beautiful tonight." His voice was low and deep. His hot breath hit my skin; sending goosebumps rising upon my skin, causing me to blush.

He smiled in triumph as he sat back in his seat. "Whatever," I mumbled, I playfully pushed his shoulder earning a laugh from him. "I can make you easily blush," I challenged as I built up the courage. "No you-" I cut him off by pressing my lips to his cheek (my lips were dangerously close to the corners of his mouth) and I let my lips linger there for a few seconds longer then I normally would. I pulled back slightly to see his eyes were wide open and his cheeks were a tinted red. I smiled in victory and sat back.

"Touché," he said with narrow eyes. I giggled at his reaction. I can't believe I just did that. Before, I would have never had the guts to do that. It was a simple kiss and to him it seemed friendly but to me it wasn't. Instead of kissing him on his lips I would kiss his cheek and that's okay for me.

I wrapped my slim arms around his neck. And I threw my head back in laughter because it brought me joy to see he was speechless. "You made me blush," he gasp. "I guess I know how to make people blush. I have a charm," I said with a shrug. He treated me with a coy smile of embarrassment. "We should have dessert," he said. I nodded as I unwrapped my arms around his neck and brought them to my side.

Louis scooted back to his original seat just as the waiter came back and asked, "Are we done here?" "Yes we are," Louis said. "We will be having dessert to." The waiter nodded and said, "I will be back to take you orders." She walked away with a sway of her hips.

"I was thinking we can share... If you want," I said. "I would like that," he said. I smiled to myself thinking it was just like the movies. Maybe we will be feeding each other spoon full of dessert.

"You can choose our dessert," he said. I grabbed the menu and looked through the dessert section. Until one caught my eye that sounded mouth watering. Shortly after, the waiter came back with her notepad; she was ready to take our order. "What can I get you?" she asked. "We will like to share a warm apple crostata with vanilla ice cream," I said. She scribbled it down on her notepad before saying, "Okay. It should be out in a few minutes." She walked away after that.

"That was easy," I said. "Is this warm apple crostata any good?" he asked. "It sounded and looked good. So let's hope for the best," I said. "It better be good or I will not eat it." he huffed. "If I like it I'm sure you would," I said. "We could have different taste," he pointed out. "Believe me. We will like it," I said with giggles.

"I can already smell it in the air," I said a few minutes later. "That's because it's right behind you," he said as he snickered. I looked behind me to see the lady was bringing it out on a black tray. "Right on time," I said. She walked over and placed it in the middle of the table and laid out two forks for us. "I hope you enjoy," she said before walking away.

I picked up a fork and we both dug in the dessert. I took a bite with the apple and the breaded crust below the ice cream that was drizzled in caramel. "It has a lot of flavor," Louis said. "And the caramel is to die for! They must be making it themselves." I nodded agreeing. "Now we know what to get next time," I said. "Agree," he said. We continued to eat our dessert until we were finished. It didn't take long for us to finish. "Bring on round two of this wonderful dessert," Louis joked. I laughed loudly which caused him to smile.

The waiter walked back out and handed us the bill in a red booklet. "How much?" he asked. "Um around eighty to ninety," I said. He opened it and he seemed surprise by the outcome. "What is it?" I asked. "It was only fifty," he said. "Not too bad for a fancy place like this," I said.

He took out his wallet and pulled out four twenties. "You don't have to pay," I said. "I want to," he said. "I can never let a girl pay." He sent me a playful wink. "Why are you paying seventy dollars?" I asked. "A tip. She deserves a good tip," he said. "But thirty dollars in tip?" I asked. "Why?" "Well, why not?" He asked. I didn't say another word.

He placed the money in the red booklet. "Alright. It looks like we are done," he said. We stood up and we pushed in our chairs. We walked out towards the front with his arm wrapped around my shoulder. I was pressed into his side with my arm wrapped around his torso.

"Thank you. I hope you have a nice night," the lady said at the front. "You too," Louis and I said. Louis removed his arm and placed his hand on my lower back to guide me out. We walked towards outside and to his car. He placed his arm back around my shoulder and pulled me closer to his side. I nuzzled my head on his chest as we walked. "It's over here," he said. I nodded.

"Did I say you look absolutely stunning tonight?" he whispered. I blushed and said, "Thank you." "I mean it," he said. I looked up at him only to see he sent a wink towards me. He is such a charmer.

We walked to his car; he opened the door for me (like a true gentleman would) and I sat in. He closed it and walked back over to his side and got in before he closed the door behind him. He started the car with the key in the ignition and backed out. I turned on the radio to help fill the silence and Hall Of Fame came on. I began to hum along to the song with my eyes closed. "Do you like the Script?" he asked. I peaked over at him before closing my eyes again. "They are amazing," I said. "I like them too," he said back before looking ahead. I wasn't paying much attention until I felt Louis! hand entwine with mine. My cheeks turned a light pink as I looked at him.

I admired the way he was looking. His jawline set in place and his twinkling blue eyes when they shined in the light. He is a guy that every girl wanted. He is kind, caring, lovable, friendly, and such a gentleman. The list could go on. I swear, I feel those sparks everyone says they feel when they touch their guy.

"Standing in the hall of fame.. And the world's gonna know your name... Cause you burn with the brightest flame... And the world's gonna know your name... And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame," Louis sung along quietly. I love hearing Louis' voice when he sings. He has such a beautiful voice.

I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes (I was just listening to his voice as he sung). After he sung and a few songs later, we were soon coming to a stop out front of the house. My face fell as I realized this night is coming to an end.

He took out his keys and let go of my hand then, he opened his door and closed it behind him. He walked to my side and opened my door for me. "Thank you," I whispered as I stepped out. "You're welcome," he said with a smile before he closed the door. He took my hand in his and we began walking in silence. We walked to the door to find it unlocked so we opened it and walked in; we closed it behind us quietly.

We turned around to see the three boys sleeping by the Xbox. Their loud snores filled the room. We walked past them and up the stairs, down to my room. We stopped right outside of it before I went in for the night.

That's when everything went by so fast. My heart spend up. My stomach formed butterflies. My cheeks turned a light shade of pink. And Louis leaned in to kiss my cheek. "Good night Brooke. I had fun tonight," he said. "I had a lot of fun," I softly said, "good night." I opened my bedroom door and walked in. I closed the door behind me and pressed my back to it.

A smile made its way to my face as I touched the cheek he kissed. I could still feel the tingles he had left my body with. This night was a date in my head. Deep down I knew this wasn't a date but I want to think it is. This moment was
