"What will Harry even say?" I asked. "Doesn't matter. I love you too much to not have you," he said. A tear slipped from my eye. "I will never leave you," he murmured. "Do you trust me?" Fight For You Chapter 17

Brooke's Pov:

I looked up to see my family standing there with smiles on their faces. They haven't notice me yet which gave me the chance to hide behind Louis and hold onto his hand. Squeezed my hand in a comforting gesture and my nerves settled down. "It's okay," he whispered in my ear. I nodded in response but didn't let go, I only squeezed it tighter.

"Harry?" Anne, my mum, gasp. She was beautiful. She had long, shoulder length brown hair, a beautiful smile, and bright green eyes. She pulled Harry in a hug. "How have you been? Oh come in everyone," Mum said, motioning us inside. "I've been good mum," he hummed while kissing her cheek.

There was mum, a girl who looked in her twenties with shoulder length blonde hair, and two tall men standing by the door. Harry went to go talk to our dad; step dad; and the girl who I think is Gemma, which is our sister. "Boys, how are you?" Mum asked as she gave each of the lads a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "We are very good Anne and you?" Liam said. "I've been good," she said.

We walked past Mum and everyone. Louis guided me to the couch with his hand still entwine with mine. He gave me an assuring smile before letting go to sit on the couch. I sat down on the soft sofa next to him and he wrapped his arm around my waist. Harry walked over to us and took a seat on the other side of me.

I heard the front door shut and foot steps walk around the corner of the doorway. My family sat down across from me and I felt my anxiety build up again. Mum's eyes scanned at all of us until her eyes landed on me. She seemed to look at me longer than the rest and realization dawned on her as she cupped her mouth with her small hand and she gasp.

"Brooke, is that you?" She asked. "Mum," I whispered. "Oh sweetie. I am so sorry," she cried as she pulled me in a strong, loving hug. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her but soon relaxed at her touch and favored this moment. I closed my eyes and rested my head on her shaky shoulders.

A few tears fell down my cheeks and dripped onto her shirt. I smiled as I hugged her tighter. I breathed in her vanilla scent and I let out a sob. Droplets of her tears fell on my shirt too and I knew she was crying from both tears of joy and sadness. "I am so sorry for everything. I missed you so much and I thought I lost you forever but here you are now," she cried. "That was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I didn't believe in myself for raising three kids and I take it back now and regret ever giving you up!" She looked at me with a sad smile and I could see the regret filling her eyes.

"Who knew you bumped into Harry and found your brother," she said, changing the subject to a better topic. "Actually Anne it was me who she bumped in," Louis pointed out with a teasing smirk. She looked over at him and let out a boisterous laugh then, she quickly wiped her eyes.

She looked back in my watery eyes and smiled. "Come meet Des and Joe," she said. She wrapped an arm around my shoulder and guided me to the two tall men. "Brooke I can't believe it's you," Des said. He pulled me in a hug and I wrapped my arms back around my father. "I'm so sorry. I regret doing that to you so much," he said. "It's fine. I'm here now and that's all that matters," I said. I looked up at him to see he was almost on the verge of tears. "I promise you this will never happen again," he said. We let go of the hug and Anne guided me to Joe who stood silently to the side.

"Joe this is Brooke, my daughter, the one I've been telling you about," Anne said. "Hi Brooke. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said, pulling me in a hug. I nervously wrapped my arm around him but eventually relaxed. Even though they were my family, I still had no clue who they really were. I was afraid they would leave me again and I didn't know whether or not I should chance being close with them.

"I hope we will get along great," he said as he pulled out of the hug. "I'm sure we will," I said, giving him a small smile. I turned around to be faced with a tall, gorgeous girl who looked in her twenties. Her shoulder length blonde hair was silky smooth. She also had green eyes like Harry and they glinted with joy.

"Hello Brooke. I'm Gemma," She said. "I remember when you were a young one but I don't remember much of went on as well as Harry." I sent her a loving smile. I didn't say anything in response which seemed to have confused Gemma. "Don't worry Gemma. She will warm up to all of you sooner or later. She warmed up to the lads and I quick. Right now she is overwhelmed with so many emotions," Harry said. "We understand," Anne said.

Gemma pulled me in a hug and I wrapped my arms around her. "We are going to get along better then ever," she said. We let go and I faced the boys. "Is she the one that you said she is going to drag me shopping everywhere?" I asked. "Telling lies about me again Harry," Gemma teased. "It was Niall," Harry defended but laughed shortly after. "What ever," Niall huffed in a joking matter.

"I think it's time for me to go make dinner. You six must be hungry," Anne, or shall I say mum, said. She walked in the kitchen as Gemma followed her. Des and Joe sat down on the couch and watched a football game together and talked about sports. I would have thought it would be awkward between them but to my surprise they got along just fine.

"I'll show you around," Harry said. "Okay," I agreed. It would be nice to see where my childhood home was. We walked up the stairs to reveal a long hallway with a row of bedrooms. I heard a bunch of footsteps run up the stairs from behind us and I turned around to see the boys standing there.

"Your bedroom is right across from Louis' or the first guest room where Louis stays at," he said as I nodded in response. "My bedroom is next to your's," he said. "The second guest room is next to Gemma's which will be Liam's room. The third guest bedroom will go to Niall which is on the other side of your's," he said. We continued to walk down the hallway. "The fourth guest room is Zayn's which is next to mine," he smiled. "My mum and Joe's room are down stairs," he said as we turned around to walk back downstairs.

"You have the huge living room and huge kitchen," he said as we walked in the kitchen. He showed me the fridge, where the pantry is at, the storage of pots and pans. Mum and Gemma were cooking spaghetti at the stove as they talked amongst themselves. Harry opened the back door and we walked out. "Here is the backyard," he said.

The backyard almost took my breath away. It was huge. There was a huge pool that went to eight feet deep, a basketball court, a barbecue, and a fire pit with chairs surrounding it. There was an out-house on the huge grassy field and a flat screen hanging up on the wall by the pool.

"This is amazing Harry," I said. "I know right," Niall agreed with me. "And this is your's?" I asked, turning around to face Harry. "Well our mum's. I bought some things for her," he said. "It's unbelievable here," I said. "I can tell I'm going to be out here all day," I joked. Harry laughed and wrapped and arm around my shoulder. "Let's go eat," he said. We turned around and walked back in.

"I told you everything will be fine," Louis whispered in my ear as he grabbed my hand in his. We swung out hands back in forth with him laughing. I giggled as we walked in the kitchen behind everyone else. He pulled my hand to stop myself from walking to catch my attention.

"I want you to enjoy it here. This is your time to spend with your family. Do not worry about anything. They love you and I promise you they will never leave you again. Trust me," he whispered. I looked down at his lips as he moved them then, up at his eyes. A smile stretched across my face as I pulled him in a hug and wrapped my arms around him. He didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around me. "Thank you," I whispered in his ear. "For what?" he asked. I looked up at him in his eyes. He looked confused. "Everything," I said. "If you never brought me to the apartment, I would have never found my family. It means so much Louis and I'm grateful for it," I said.

He smiled down at me and whispered, "You're welcome. It's the least I can do." I smiled at him again and pulled him in another hug. We stayed in that hug for awhile till someone coughed behind us. We pulled back and looked to see my mum raising an eyebrow at us with a smirk playing on her face. "Dinner is ready," she said before walking into the dinning room.

I looked up at Louis and nodded. I followed behind mum and into the dinning room. Everyone was seated but there was two spaces left next to each other for Louis and me. Louis and I walked over to our seats and say down.

I took the seat next to Harry and Louis sat next to me. "Now that everyone is here. Let's eat," Des said. I picked up my fork and spun some spaghetti on the utensil. "So Brooke, what was it like meeting the boys?" Gemma asked. "Well Louis found me when my step-parents kicked me out so he invited me to stay with him. I was hidden but founded when I ran into the boys on accident. It didn't go as well as I planned," I admit. The boys laughed along remembering that day which felt like it was only yesterday.

"I didn't find out Harry was my brother until a week or two later," I said. "How did you find out?" Gemma asked. "After a fùtbol game we played. We came back and we were cleaning up my room a bit and I found my birth certificate along with a letter from my step-parents," I said.

"I was so happy to find out Harry was my brother," I said, smiling at Harry. He smiled back. "So it was Louis who helped in some ways," Des said. "Yeah he did," I said, nodding while looking at Louis. He winked at me before going back to eat. "I'm sure it was exciting when you found out," mum said. "It was," I said.

We all sat in silence as we continued to eat. Everyone was enjoying their food. I must agree that my mum cooks really well. It was going well until now my mum decided to make things awkward.

"So Brooke," mum said, sending me a warming smile. "I've noticed some thing. Are you and Louis dating? You two seem very close in the kitchen." Harry and Louis started to choke on their food. I stared at her with wide eyes. Niall, Liam, and Zayn were trying to hold back their laughter as everyone else sat there in confusion.

"No no. W-we are not dating," I stuttered. "No they aren't," Harry sternly stated. "No Anne. Brooke and I are just friends," Louis said. "You guys aren't having any thing going on? You two will be so cute-" "Mum!" Harry shouted. The room fell silent. Niall awkwardly looked down at his food as so did everyone else. "Trust me they are not dating nor will they ever. They are just friends," Harry said, "and will stay like that." He sent a glare at Louis. "Yeah friends," Louis mumbled.

"Yeah mum, Louis and I are friends and nothing more. He helped me find you guys and I was just thanking him," I said nervously. I didn't know why I was nervous. It was the truth. "I guess I mistaken the kind gesture" she said, still not believing any of it. "Let's change the subject shall we?" Gemma said awkwardly. "So Joe how was work?" Mum asked. "Good as usual," he said. "Des, how are things?" Mum asked. "Things are great," he said.

"Brooke do you work somewhere?" Gemma asked. "I work at Bob's BBQ," I said. "She sometimes brings back free food," Niall said. I couldn't help but smile and nod. "How is the tour boys?" Des asked. "Amazing. We just finished the European Tour," Zayn said. "How long till the next tour?" Mum asked. "Awhile. We are on break," Liam said. "Then we go to the U.S. For the next part of the tour," Harry said. "It sounds fun," Joe said. "It is a ton of fun," Louis said.

I took my last bite of spaghetti. "I think I'm going to head off to bed now," I said. "It was a long drive with the boys." I stood up and nodded at everyone. "Thank you for the dinner. It was lovely." "I'll help you up to your room," Gemma offered. She quickly stood up and ran outside to grab my bags. "You're welcome Brooke," mum said.

"Good night everyone," I said as Gemma ran back in with my luggage. I walked up the stairs with Gemma following behind me and we walked down to my room then, walking inside to get settled.

I sat on my bed as Gemma set my luggage down at the end of the bed. She walked over to me and sat down on the next to where I sat. She raised an eyebrow at me as she gave me a suspicious look. "What?" I asked. "Okay, I want you to spill everything to me," she said. "Spill what?" I asked. "You and Louis," she demanded to know.

I blushed and looked down. My cheeks turned pinker by the second. "We are just friends. Nothing more and nothing will ever happen."

Louis' Pov:

"I also better get to bed. I have a long day tomorrow," I said. "Thank you for dinner." "You're welcome Louis," Anne said. "Good night lads. Night everyone," I said with a wave.

I jogged up the stairs quietly and past the small shine of light coming from Brooke's door. I walked to her door to say good night but stopped abruptly when I heard my name. I pressed my body against the wall and out of view from the light of her room.

"Okay, I want you to spill everything to me," Gemma said. "Spill what?" Brooke asked. "You and Louis," Gemma demanded to know. I know I shouldn't listen in on them but I couldn't help it. My curiosity got the best of me at the sound of my name. I wanted to know what Brooke thought of me. "We are just friends. Nothing more and nothing will ever happen," she said. I felt like my heart just ripped in half. It shattered to pieces as I listened to her say we are just friends. I thought maybe we could be more.

"But you two have this love connection," Gemma said. "No we don't. There is nothing between us," Brooke said. She doesn't think there isn't anything between us? That hurts. I was more than hurt, I was crushed.

I continued to listen on their conversation. "Brooke there is definitely something between you two," Gemma said. "Gemma no there isn't and there will never be," Brooke softly said.

That's all I needed to know. I walked past her room and into mine. I opened it and slammed it closed, not even caring if they heard.

Back to Brooke's Pov:

"What was that?" I asked as I heard a loud door slam. "I don't know. It could have been Harry. Anyways Brooke I know you like him," she said. I sighed and looked down. "Look me in the eyes and say Gemma I do not like Louis," she demanded. I slowly looked up in her eyes and said, "Gemma I do not-" I didn't even finish. I started to blush and smile. I quickly looked away.

"You can't even keep a straight face. I know you do," she said. "Fine Gemma yes I do like him," I admit. "See I told you," she said. "How come you don't tell him how you feel?" she asked. "He doesn't like me so why tell him if I'll just end up hurt in the end," I said. "He does too like you," she said. "No I know he doesn't," I said. "How do you know?" she asked.

"It's obvious. He just got out of a relationship and I'm no where near perfect. His old girlfriend was gorgeous I bet and I'm just a plain girl who just found her family," I said. "Yeah like a month ago they dated and you are too gorgeous and not plain. Perfect is boring in my opinion," she said. "Yeah maybe not in his opinion," I said.

"I think you should tell him," she said. "I don't know," I said. "Fine. Just remember you're missing out. He might not be available for long," she said. She stood up and walked out the bedroom. She closed her bedroom closed behind her.

I sighed and fell back on my bed. What am I going to do? Maybe she is right.

Maybe I should just tell him but will I end up hurt if I do?
