Louis Tomlinson is perfect, but just like everybody else he's unreachable.

19. Chapter 19

It feels like I've been sitting there for a couple of hours before i wake up out some sort of trance. This can't be true, there has to be some sort of mistake. That guy is not my dad. My dad was John, the coolest dad in the world. I shake my head as if it will make all of this go away. How could she have done this to me, and dad? It's like she never even loved him in the first place. This explains it though..Why she hates me. I could have known there was something different with me. I'm not what she wanted, but she didn't really have a choice.

Everything floats through my head at the same time. The memories, the thoughts of my dad not being my dad. The room suddenly feels like everything is frozen and it's dark and empty. The only thing I can see is the letter I'm still holding, confirming that my life has been a lie. That my mother's life has been a lie. Suddenly there's a noise coming from downstairs. Shit, Jay can't see me here. I quickly stand up and put back all the letters in the box. After I've put it back in the closet I quietly walk to the door, to listen if someone's in the hall. Jay still seems to be downstairs, otherwise he would've seen the light in this room. I leave the room walk to my own room, falling on my bed. Still not really understanding what's going on, I just stare at the cealing. Until I feel my eyes getting tired and closing automatically. I fall asleep with my clothes still on.

'Dina! Wake up!' From far away I hear Jay call my name. The shouting becomes clearer when he calls again. I open my eyes and blink a few time, disoriented. My room is pretty dark, even though the curtains are open. 'Dina!' 'Yeah!' I call back at him, not sure where he is. 'I thought I'd wake you up, because it's getting late.' It seems to be coming form downstairs. I sit up slowly realizing it's freezing cold my room. I look at the time on my phone. It's 7:30. How did I even manage to sleep for so long? Sighing deeply I stand up and go the bathroom quickly. My legs are frozen.

'Hey, are you sick again?' Jay is leaning against the kitchen counter looking at me worried. 'No why?' 'Well, you fell asleep yesterday at 7 PM and you didn't wake up after that.' He crosses his arms in front of his chest. 'I guess I was just tired.' I shrug. Ofcourse there's more, but how am I even going to explain to him what's going on? No first I need to figure it out myself.
'Well I'm going, me and Luke still need to do something for English.' He grabs his bag and lunch and leaves the kitchen. 'Bye.' A few minutes later I hear him close the front door. I better hurry up, otherwise I'll be late myself.
When I get outside I'm shocked by the cold. Ofcourse, it's December. I never even realised it. But that means, my birthday is in 17 days! I  have a feeling not many people will come to my party if I gave one.. Well, I'm used to it though.
Thinking about this I reach school. The only place where people seem alive. Everybody is laughing and talking. I walk to my locker, alone. Feeling like everybody stops and looks at me when I pass them. They haven't forgot...or maybe it''s because they've heard Zayn is the only one treating me like a normal person. I don't want to ruin his social life, he doesn't deserve that. Emily was stupid for pushing someone like him away. I honestly think it could've worked out betweent hem, but she didn't trust him. Or me, her best friend. I notice Sascha and Chloe are standing close to my locker. Should I come back later? No, I need my books. I slowly walk to my locker, trying not to get recognized but Sascha looks up form her phone and sees me. She hesitates, but then she smiles. 'Hi Dina.' I'm really surprised and don't really know what to say. 'Eh, hi.' Chloe gives Sascha a hard stare. I pretend I didn't see it and focus back on my books. I never expected something like that from Chloe. I mean, not that I know her very well but she seemed nice. When I close my locker Sascha and Chloe are already back to their phone. I roll my eyes and walk away frustrated.
On my way upstairs, I bump into someone. 'Sorry I didn't see you there.' I look down to my books, lying on the ground. 'Zayn this is the second time you bumped into me.' I sigh. He chuckles. 'You bumped into me, babe.' He grabs my books from the stairs. 'Here you go.' A few girls look at us curiously when the walk past us. I roll my eyes again. Zayn notices it. 'Hey, ignore them Dina.' He grins at me. 'Erm I need to go to my class.' He tells me and looks at the time on his watch. 'Yeah me too.' There's an awkward silence. 'Well, I'll see you at lunch then.' He eventually says. I nod. 'Ok, bye.'
I watch him go downstairs quickly and make my way to my own class. He really doesn't seem to care that people hate me. Why isn't everybody like him?

I try to pay attention in my Math class instead of looking behind me at Sascha, who's sitting in the back. She looks up from her work once, smiling at me. She's the only one who doesn't blame me I think. But Chloe and Emily won't let her talk to me, if they're around. I miss them, even though I'll never admit it to someone.

I spot Zayn in a corner of the busy canteen. He's sitting alone and he's playing with his lunch. Slowly, I make my way through the people and reach his table. His eyes light up when he sees me. He must be really lonely if he's so happy to see me. 'I was already wondering where you were.' He says when I sit down beside him. I look around, wondering where Zayn's 'friends'are. Somehow he seems to be reading my mind. 'Don't worry, I'm fine.' I give him a shy smile.' He looks at the table with a frown. 'I think...you should talk to Emily.' My eyes widen at his unexpected suggestion. 'Eh, I don't think she wants to talk to me, Zayn.' 'I know but, I just feel like it's my fault.' He looks guilthy. 'Zayn, I've already told you that it's not your fault.' Without realising, I take his hand. 'Let it go.'
