3. The Sorting

"Sorry?" One of the red heads says gaping at me.

"That's bloody brilliant!" The other says. "What else do you know?"

Now their full attention is on me and I blush. "Well it's not really rocket science, but if you set two off by each other the stench mingles and grows stronger. It kind of amplifies it. And if its in a heated room then you'll be choking on the stink." I say.

One of the red heads elbows the other. "Did you hear that Fred?" He asks his twin.

"Oh I did George!" Fred says. I try to remember that Fred is the one sitting in front of me and George across from the dark haired boy.

"This girl knows stink bombs better than us!" They end together. I laugh.

The dark haired boy suddenly points behind and gasps, "Look! Hogwarts!"

I turn around and see the famous Hogwarts castle. It towers high and is made of stone. I can almost feel the magic coming from it. "Wow" I say.

The others also have their eyes set on the castle. I stare up at it. Not wanting this moment to end. But like all good things, it does. The boats pull up to shore and with wobbly legs, I get out. I turn to try to talk to the boys but they are already gone, mixed up in the large group. I feel slightly disappointed but shake the feeling off. The large man leads us up to the castle where a stern looking woman greets us and leads us to the great hall.

Walking through the halls I feel a little squished. Everyone is pushing in front of me or falling behind. Murmurs buzz in my ears.

At one point I think I see a flash of red hair, but it is gone before I know it. We get to the great hall and are instructed to stand in a long line. The stern looking teacher places a ratty looking hat on a bench and it starts singing. It sings of the four founders and houses and ends with a very high note. Everyone claps and The stern teacher starts to read off names. I brace myself. I will be soon since my last name starts with a C. After a few Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Griffindor, the stern teacher calls out.

     "Chelsea, Amber!"

I walk boldly to the stool and sit down, placing the hat on my head.

'Oh' it says in my head. 'Your an interesting one! You show lots of loyalty but Huffle Puff just isn't right... Neither is Slytherin. You certainly dislike them! How about Ravenclaw?'

I half expected the hat to yell that out, but it carries on.

'No, your smart just not in that way... But I see lots of courage and Bravery, So it better be GRYFFINDOR!"

Excitement bursts in my chest. Just like my dad! I head over to the  chearing Gryffindor table. I sit down and watch the rest of the sorting.

I recognized Jake Howston who got Slytherin. No surprise there, the dim wit.

Then it was the Dark haired boy, who's name is Lee Jordan. He got Gryffindor like me. Some of the last to be sorted were the red haired boys, Fred and George. They also got Gryffindor. When they walk to the table they sit with Lee.

The feast begins and I pile food onto my plate. There is pretty much everything! And by the time the feast is over, I am full and VERY tired. The Prefects lead us to our house. The password is Treckle Tarts. They show us out dormentarys and I happily walk into mine. There are a bunch if four poster beds and I take the one with my stuff on it. I change into my Pj's and crawl under the fluffy blankets. I fall asleep instantly, thinking of all the memory's I've created today.
