Her heart has broken down so many times that she has given up love. She doesn't want to feel the pain anymore. So she has devoted herself to her hobby surfing. Her best friend, Jessica, is worried about her health and the risks she starts taking when she starts going out in storms to catch the *best* waves. That's when Jessica calls an old lover of hers in hopes that he can help her. But will this hurt her even more? Or will he be just what she needs?

1. I don't need help.

Carter's POV:

The salt water splashed against my face as I paddled out. The warm sun beamed down against my bare back as I stood up on the board as the wave carried be back towards the shore. Jessica sat on my towel staring at me with sad hopeless eyes as I ran out of the water. I put my board into the sand and grabbed another towel to dry my hair.

"Kat..." She muttered.

"Don't." I growled.

"It isn't healthy!" She yelled jumping to her feet.

"I am not going to kick surfing just because you don't like it!" I growled.

"I don't care if you surf! I just hate when you surf in the storms!" She cried.

"It's not storming today so don't worry about it." I hissed walking up to my Jeep. She followed close behind eagerly. At first I wasn't sure why she was so eagerly following me, usually her face is glued to her phone.

"Well well well." That voice sent chills down my spine as I turned my head to see those bright blue eyes of the devil himself.

"What's he doing here?" I turned back towards Jessica and growled.

"He's here to help you!" She defended.

"I don't need help! Specially from the likes of him!" I snapped.

"Ouch." He smirked clutching above his heart.

"Come on Kar!" She whined.

"No! Now move." I pushed him out of my way before getting into my jeep. As I was putting the key in he decided to lean against the door peeking his head through the opened window.

"Nice upgrade." He teased.

"Shove a pipe in it." I growled.

"I don't remember her being always so feisty." He chuckled.

"It's because she wasn't." Jessica frowned.

"I am leaving now." I grumbled.

"Great! Where are we going?" He smirked jumping into the passenger seat.

"I am not going anywhere with you!" I growled.

"Oh come on." He pouted.

"Get out."

"Drew get out of my car." I growled.

"Make me." He teased. I reached across him with a smile as I opened the door then pushed him out into the parking lot. I shut the door smirking before pulling away. They stood their with their mouths gasped opened. I honked the horn as I drove away.
