Love Me? {Ashton Irwin}

Scarlett lived in a quiet town by the name of Grandview, Oregon. Nothing happened there. There were little residents. (About 500-600 at the most.) She had little friends, and she certainly didn't have a boyfriend. Her life went the way she wanted it to; Quiet and uneventful. She has one wish though. That wish is love. She wants to know how it feels to have a complete stranger com into your life and feel love for them. But a blonde boy from Australia happens to do just that.

19. Chapter Seventeen.

Scarlett's POV

I woke up to the pounding of my head. I blinked a few times before rising up from the pillow, yawning and stretching. My head was absolutely pounding. I groaned as I looked around for Ashton. He wasn't in the "bed".

"Ashton?" I attempted to step out of the mass of blankets and head into the house, until my vision became very blurred. I gripped the side of the truck and tried not to fall.

I heard a voice, then felt a strong grip on my arm.

"Scarlett, are you okay?"

My breathing had become shallow, I was having a hard time answering his question.

"I-I can't-" I mumbled

"You can't what?" He picked me up and set me down on the bed of the truck. His hands cupped my face. I tried to look at him, but all I saw was his messy hair, his features had become disoriented.

I had become cold, I was shivering. My stomach was turning, until I retched on what I assumed was the ground, it was hard to tell. My head was spinning. Then everything went black.

Ashton's POV

She had fallen from my grasp. Her head went back as she slipped into unconsciousness. She had puked on my shoes, so I took them off and threw them to the side. As I ran to the house to grab my phone, I tried to think of what was happening. Then I got it, alcohol poisoning. I grabbed my phone and dialed the police.

"911 what is your emergency?"

"Hi it's my friend, she's passed out, I think she got alcohol poisoning, I need an ambulance."

"Ok we'll be as soon as possible, what is the address?"

I told her my address, and hung up the phone. I ran back outside, and searched for the bottle of Scotch. Once I found it, I looked at the alcohol content.

94.8%

"Fuck!"

As I smashed the glass on the ground, the ambulance arrived, making me sprint over to Scarlett. The paramedics came out, examining her.

"How much did she have to drink?" the man asked me firmly.

"I-I don't know, almost the whole bottle of scotch." I stuttered.

He shook his head as they took her on the stretcher, "You have to stay here, I'm afraid."

"What?! No! I'm going to the hospital with her!" I shouted.

"Sir, we can only let family members or spouses come in the ambulance, I'm sorry." he pressed his hand against my shoulder.

I shook it off angrily, "No! This is bullshit! She's my girlfriend!" I lied.

"On the phone, you said she was your friend."

"I'll follow the ambulance to the hospital, just please get her there." I ran to the truck, after taking the pillows and blankets off, driving to the hospital.

Once I got to the hospital, I watched as they pulled her out of the truck. I ran up beside her and grasped her hand. She had an oxygen mask on, along with needles and tubes in her arms.

"Im so sorry." I whispered as they took her away. I ran down the hall, only to be guarded by nurses. "What are they gonna do to her?"

"It'll be fine, she's just gonna get her stomach pumped to get the alcohol out of her system. If anything happens, we'll let you know, it shouldn't take long." One of them spoke soothingly.

I nodded and took a seat in the waiting room. Taking a few breaths, I looked around only to see an old man with a cane and a hat in his hand. He also took a deep breath and closed his eyes, tilting his head up, then whispering something I couldn't quite make out.

It was about two hours or so, I heard footsteps approach the front desk. A doctor in a large white coat and scrubs, started to talk to one of the nurses at the desk.

"Do we have any information on the girl that came in a couple hours ago?" he asked quietly

The nurse piped up, "She came in with a boy over there, but we don't know how he's related to her."

The doctor turned to me, then walked over. I stood up to his level, my hands had began shaking and sweating. What if she wasn't okay?

"Did you come in with the girl whom got alcohol poisoning?" he asked firmly.

"Um–y-yeah." I answers shakily.

"How are you related to her? We can only let family members in at this time-"

"She doesn't have any family she wants to see. I'm her boyfriend." I interrupted.

"Are you sure?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Yes, I'm sure. Please, just let me see her."

He shrugged and told me to follow him. Once we got to the room, I saw her lying there, as lifeless as ever.

"I'll leave you alone."

I fell beside her once he let the door close behind him. She looked so...empty. I couldn't help but start to cry. It was all my fault. I shouldn't have let her drink as much as she did. I'm a fucking idiot. I picked up her hand and kissed it.

"I'm sorry you're in here, it's all my fault." I cried. I looked away for a second, until I heard her voice.

"Ashton?"
