Ditched (A Harry Styles FanFic)

"As long as you keep trying to make things better, you'll be on the right track.''
''What if I mess up?"
"Then you start again."
"Will you be with me if I mess up?"
"I'll always be here."
Elizabeth was an average 19-year old that was on a cross country trip through Europe with her best friend Carson. Until Carson ditched her with purely innocent motives. Now, as Elizabeth is on her own in the United Kingdom she meets five boys. Due to her lack of musical knowledge, she doesn't recognize them as One Direction, but is eager to welcome them as friends no matter who or what they are. Harry is awestruck by Elizabeth and her personality and soon begins to fancy her. Elizabeth isn't the type of girls he's used to however, and when he does something that might bring back bad memories, will they be able to pull through for the better?

4. A Proposal

***Harry's P.O.V.***

My stomach was doing flips again as she giggled at my silliness. All my stupid jokes; she actually laughed at them! I was awestricken by Elizabeth's personality, she was just amazing. The fact that she wasn't engaged, or even dating anyone was great news to me. I was fancying her so much that I didn't even mind the whole purity ring thing. she was so pure and clean, I couldn't help but like her.

''So, you're going to be in a hotel for the next month?'' I asked, preparing the major question in my head.

''Yeah,'' she said with a sad sort of smile on her lips.

''That's going to cost a lot,'' I added casually.

''I know, it's a good thing Carson's family is rich,'' she agreed, ''it still doesn't feel right to take money from them though.''

I smirked slightly, my confidence growing to dangerous proportions. ''I have an idea,'' I started. She looked up at me with questioning eyes and waited patiently for me to continue. ''You could stay at my flat,'' I finished.

She glanced at me skeptically and my ego was brought down a bit. What if she rejected the idea? ''I don't know, Curly...'' she said, using the nickname she had come to like. I tried to hold back my nervous smile. ''The scales just aren't in your favor here... I mean you're awesome and all, but I'm a girl and you're a guy, and being alone with you... in your house... that's the kind of thing my mom would tell me not to do.'' Even though I knew that I should be disappointed by her words I couldn't help but mentally smile. Any other girl would have jumped at the offer to stay with me at my flat, no questions asked.

I had to think fast, however, if I wanted my plan to work. ''I could invite Louis to stay with us if you're afraid I'll try something,'' I blurted.

By the way her eyes lit up, I could tell that she trusted Louis immensely. I couldn't help but wonder if she actually liked Louis, as she fancies him. At that thought a wave of jealousy went through me. This wasn't like me, I don't normally get this jealous about girls. ''I trust you Curly, I just would feel more comfortable with someone being there with us.''

''Okay then, I'll get Louis to stay there with us,'' I insisted.

''Well,'' she whispered as if talking to herself, ''I do trust Louis, and Alex did make me paranoid, not to mention he'd like the fact that I was with someone who could protect me.'' I smiled at the last part and she looked up at me, a big grin on her lips, ''okay, I'll stay at your place.''

I made a mental note to do a victory dance later.

''Just give me a day,'' she added. I nodded excitedly. Now my charms could make an appearance.

''So, what time should I pick you up tomorrow?'' I asked with a smile, making sure to show my dimples.

''How about six-ish?'' she recommended.

I nodded exuberantly and led her back to my car. I was sad to have to say goodbye to her, but I just reminded myself that so far, the plan was working.

I dragged Louis into my flat. He wasn't opposed to the idea of staying while Elizabeth was here, but apparently I had woken him from his slumber. His shoulders were slumped, his eyes were drooping, and even his wardrobe seemed muted. Instead of his eye-popping strips or graphic tees, he was wearing a grey shirt, jeans, and a grey beanie. "I just want to sleep, Hazza,'' he complained.

I pulled him to one of the guest room and then he fell onto the bed. ''You can sleep when Elizabeth gets here,'' I told him, ''right now we need to clean.'' I yanked on his arm but he just let out an annoyed groan.

''Why bother? It's not like you're that messy,'' Louis mumbled.

''Yeah, well your definition of clean is being able to see part of the ground,'' I sighed, and then with a final yank, pulled him off of the bed and he landed with a thud. "Sleep later, Louis,'' I insisted.

''And let you chicken out on making a move, in your dreams,'' he countered. He tried to lift himself up off of the floor but he just collapsed again. ''You know, I think I'm just going to sleep on the floor.'' I shook my head at him and walked out of the room. Sure, my flat wasn't too messy, but there's always room for improvement. So, after a few minutes of cleaning, my flat was clean. I waited about an hour before heading to go get Elizabeth at her hotel. My eyes darted around my kitchen, checking for one last time that everything was in the right place.

Once I was satisfied I drove over to Elizabeth's hotel. As soon as I knocked on the door of her hotel room it swung open. She looked at me before recognizing me. Her eyebrows were furrowed as her nose scrunched up slightly, and I guessed that she was either agitated or afraid of something. Either way her facial expression was adorable. She was wearing skinny jeans and a long sleeved, blue shirt with her Ray Bans and a beanie. She was so simple, yet so beautiful. Before I could say anything she hugged me tightly.

''I thought you would never come,'' she said and I concluded that her previous expression had been fear by the sound of her voice. I hugged her back as she mumbled something about a ghost.

''You said six,'' I chuckled as she halted our hug.

''Time goes by slower when you're paranoid,'' she stated. I laughed and took her suitcase from her. ''I can take that, Curly,'' she insisted.

I shook my head, ''I got it, it's only one thing.'' It was surprisingly light also and I smiled at her, ''plus, you pack light.''

''Whatever you say, Curly,'' she muttered. I smirked to myself as I placed her suitcase in the back of my car and then sat in the driver's seat. This month would be interesting.

''Elizabeth!'' Louis called excitedly when we walked in. We weren't even at the flat for two seconds before he tackled her with a hug. The jealousy that had settled inside me bubbled and I couldn't help but scowl as she hugged him back. Louis' mood had seemed to brighten the moment the door opened, even his cloths seemed to brighten.

''Louis! How've you been in the past few days?'' she asked happily.

''Great, Hazza here has been annoying me today,'' he complained. I rolled my eyes and was about to tell Elizabeth to follow me when she giggled.

''Look, Curly, Louis and I are beanie buddies,'' she giggled. I glared at Louis who just laughed it off and started tickling Elizabeth.

''I think Harry's jealous because he's not a beanie buddy,'' Louis said cheekily. I just scowled at him and grabbed Elizabeth's wrist to pull her to the guest room, shutting the door so that I didn't have to listen to Louis' laughter. Elizabeth was still smiling, and when she saw my perturbed look she immediately wiped it off her face.

''You can be a beanie buddy too,'' she said, her head bowed as she pretended to push something around with her foot.

It was adorable to watch but I knew I had to say something in order for her not to feel bad. ''Nah, it's not that,'' I lied, ''I just have a headache right now, all the loud noise was getting to me.'' I couldn't confess to her that I was jealous. Especially if I cant figure out why I'm so irrationally jealous. The boys knew I liked her, so there was nothing to fear. Except for the embarrassment, lots of embarrassment.

''Oh, I'm sorry, maybe you should go lie down. I promise I'll keep Louis extra quiet,'' she proposed.

''No,'' I said maybe a little too quickly, ''I'll just sit back on the couch after I show you around.'' She nodded and I put her suitcase on the bed. ''This is your room for the next month, you saw the kitchen on your way in, and the living room is past the doorway in the kitchen. You have your own bathroom, through that door,'' I said motioning to the second door in the room. ''if you ever need me at anytime, my room and Louis' room are down the hall.''

''Okay,'' she said. She opened up her suitcase and then turned to me, ''do you mind?''

I sat on the bed impassively and watched as she took out her computer first. ''No, I don't mind,'' I said with a smirk.

Her cheeks turned a shade of pink, ''but I have... things in here.''

I chuckled, ''of course you do, that's what suitcase are used for. to hold things.''

She rolled her eyes, ''you know what I mean.''

I smiled and then mocked surprise, ''oh, you mean personal things.'' She nodded in a way that said 'duh'. ''Yeah... I still don't mind,'' I said smugly.

She sighed and started to unpack her things. I watched contently, thinking as I looked at all her clothing. Everything was so... modest. Nothing too showy, nothing that would trick a guys eyes, nothing that even gave a glimpse of skin besides her arms, legs, and neck sometimes. Everything was left to the imagination. Not, that I minded, because I have a very big imagination. Still, I could use some help. ''The boys and I are going to a club on Saturday, do you want to come?'' I asked.

''A club?'' she questioned as if the idea was so monumentally wrong, that even me thinking it was wrong. I nodded anyways.

''It'd be fun, you can have a few drinks, dance around,'' I insisted.

''I don't drink,'' she said immediately.

''Why not?'' I asked.

''I just don't,'' she replied defensively.

''well, you can still have fun.''

She bit her bottom lip, ''I've never been to a club before.'' I could tell she was looking at her cloths and her eyes landed on a turtle neck.

I picked up the shirt she was looking at and shook my head, ''but if you go, you have to wear something...different than what you're used to.''

''Well, I'm sorry, I packed for the U.K. all together, not for clubbing,'' she said.

''Then we'll just have to buy you something,'' I stated.

''No, I don't want to take your money,'' she protested.

''It wasn't a suggestion,'' I countered.

''Harry,'' she whined. I resisted the urge to smile, she looked adorable when she whined. her brown hair was wavy today, and I guessed it was her natural hair style because she wore it well. Elizabeth wasn't perfect, but if she was perfect she would be fake.

''Elizabeth,'' I mock whined, pulling away from comparing her hair to a miny waterfall.

She glared at me and then said, ''no.''

''Yes, we'll go to the store on Friday,'' I finished.

She cocked her head at me, ''you're going to go shopping with me, Curly.''

''Yeah, you obviously don't know what to wear to a club.'' I motioned disapprovingly to her turtle neck, shaking my head and feeling my curls bounce around, ''we'll go on Friday, okay?''

''Will I have to try clothes on?'' she asked. I nodded. ''But I hate that.''

''Well you're the first girl to ever say that to me,'' I chuckled. She sighed as she continued packing.

This will definitely be interesting.
