Something in Common

When bad boy Jason Pierce moves into town, Eden Hartell finds herself awe-struck from the moment they lay eyes on each other. Through trouble, heart-break, plenty of black eyes and a lot of explaining to do, Eden and Jason find themselves falling in love...

2. First Day Back

'I HATE maths,' Maddy growled, pushing through the big blue door. We hurried around the room to the back, where we took our seats reluctantly. Maddy pulled out her jotter and began to doodle, whilst I stifled a chuckle. Maddy had that effect on people.

'You'll hate it even more when I break it to you,' I teased in a sing-song voice, tracing circles on the desk with my finger. I don't know why, but it passed the time. I guess drawing shapes was better then learning about them.

'What?' she asked, looking across at me. She'd gone dead still.

'We have Mr Kingston,' I replied, and Maddy dropped her head to the desk. As if his name were cursed, Mr Kingston stalked through the door, slamming it shut behind him. He ordered two sheepish students to hand out the books whilst he set down his briefcase and pulled out a white board pen. It wasn't long before the lesson was set into motion - which meant it wasn't long until I felt my mind begin to wonder.

'Hey,' Maddy said, interrupting my thoughts, 'check him ouuuuuuuut.' I don't know how much later it was, but when I looked up (following Maddy's wide-eyed gaze) my eyes landed perfectly on the fit boy from Star Bucks. I immediately sat bolt-up-right in my seat.

'Name?' Mr Kingston asked, narrowing his eyes at the teen.

'Jason Pierce,' he replied subtly. When his eyes met mine for the second ever time, I knew then that school was about to get a whole load hotter.
