Falling For You

Matt Healy, your typical guy. The type that likes to impress people, he'd do anything to get attention.

No matter how important the next few years ahead were, he didn't care. All he cared about was writing.

By writing, I don't mean the author type. I mean the singer, songwriter. He'd always had a thing for writing songs.

Obviously, he was one of the popular guys in the university he was now attending.

He'd taken a variety of subjects and courses for the few years he'd be spending in this place, one of the main ones being music.

At first, he thought the whole idea of attending a university was ridiculous, he didn't think that he'd get anything out of it.

It all begins to change when the year starts and he meets new people. He makes new friends, and enemies, but there's a certain person that catches his eye.

16. chapter sixteen

Matt's POV;

I stood outside the room where Tegan would be, waiting patiently for her to walk out of it.

I should have known that she would be the last person to leave, a smile forming on my lips as soon as I spotted her.

"Hey." I smiled, putting my arm over her shoulder and walking.

She didn't even speak, she just smiled and tried moving out of my way, but I wasn't going to let her.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked, beginning to get slightly worried now.

"Nothing, I'm fine." She replied, no emotion in her voice whatsoever.

"Of course you are." I laughed, it was clear that I was being a little sarcastic with her.

She didn't reply, instead she moved out of my way and quickened her pace, walking in front of me.

"Tegan, what the fuck is going on?" I shouted, running after her, literally.

She stopped in her tracks, turning around to face me. I'd noticed now how tears were slowly starting to form in her eyes, that hurt me, a lot.

"Tegan, please, tell me what's wrong." I whispered, my left hand moving to her cheek, stroking it and wiping under her eyes to let the tears fall straight on to my thumb.

"Can you please just leave me alone. Don't come after me, don't bother me, just leave me alone." She croaked, just about able to actually hear the words leaving her mouth.

I slid my hand through my hair, pulling at it, not knowing what to say, or do. This wasn't right, why was she pushing me away all of a sudden?

"What've I done wrong?" I asked, curiosity in my voice.

"You haven't done anything wrong, yet, but that's the thing, you will. You'll do something and it'll hurt me." She whispered, shaking her head.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We were fine an hour ago, what was so bad to make it change?

"You know that's not true." I shook my head, knowing that she wouldn't listen to a word I was saying.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone. If that's really what you want, I'll leave you alone. I won't talk to you, I won't even make eye contact, I'll just act like you aren't here, if that's really what you want." I shrugged, not wanting this to happen at all.

She didn't answer with a verbal answer, instead, she nodded her head, turning and walking away from me, leaving me confused as fuck.
