5. Moonlight

Moonlight spreads across my face,

As silky and smooth and as soft as lace.

Shinier then the diamonds light,

But as clear as a pearl's milky white.

I drink it in, sip by sip,

And my hands into the milky white surface I dip.

Now, like tears, do they drain from my eyes,

Whiter than the whitest lie.

Brighter than the sun's brightest fire,

Yet darker than your deepest tire.

Sleeping eyes again do drop,

Until you wake to the fire's crackling pop.

Never is moonlight seen as sour,

As it is sweeter than the sweetest flower.
