1. Chapter 1: On the road again.

Haley's POV:

"Attention everyone!" my foster mom yelled as she tapped her glass.

Everyone stopped and looked to see what their attention was needed for.

"It's okay, you don't have to-" I whispered to her.

"As we all know Haley is now of age to move out if she so chooses. And we are gathered here today as her family, friends, loved ones to wish her a safe trip to- oh goodness..." my foster my mom spoke as she started to tear up.

"As she travels across the world to the U.K." she finally was able to mutter without bursting into tears.

Everyone put up their glasses and proposed a toast to me. Which as if that wasn't sufficiently awkward enough, my foster mom came around to hug me before handing me a little box to open.

The room was dead silent as they all watched me as I opened this tiny box.

The entire room gasped as I pulled out a set of car keys.

"Sarah, you really didn't have-" I started to say then my foster mom cut me off.

"Well everybody! Let's go see it!!" Sarah shouted, pulling me towards he front door.

As we walked out into the hot, humid, summer air there it sat. A brand new four door Jeep Wrangler. I was incapable of forming a sentence since my mouth was hanging down to my feet.

"Get in honey!" Sarah suggested.

As I climbed into my new car I was tickled with excitement. I climbed back out to thank everybody who came. A couple of people helped me put all my luggage into my car so that by the time everyone had left I was ready to catch my flight.

"Wait Sarah. How am I gonna get my car from here to Bradford?" I said concerned.

"We've got it all figured out honey. You better get going! You'll be late otherwise!" She said pushing me into the drivers seat.

"Okay! You're right! I love you guys! Thank you for everything you've done for me these past two years! Oh I almost forgot! Look on the kitchen counter behind the toaster! I left you all a thank you letter!!" I said pulling out of the driveway.

"Okay honey! Love you!" She said waving.

"Love you guys too!!" I said blowing a kiss.

I was off. Music blaring, wind blowing through my long brown hair. Life was too good to be true. I couldn't believe it. I was getting the chance of a lifetime to live in a gorgeous city in a gorgeous country for as long as my heart so desired.

I've been on the road a lot. For many different reasons. But they all pertained to me being a foster child. It had never been easy. I mean who would expect it to be. And once again I was on the road again. But this time I was crying tears of joy. It was nice knowing that what I had ahead of me in life was a good thing and not something that was going to change in the next year or so. I didn't mind being on the road again. It was a new adventure that I was more then happy to be apart of.

U.K here I come!!
