I knew someone was watching me, someone was always watching me. I didn't know it would lead to this.

2. Jenny

I know the first chapter was really short I just wanted to give you a little taster before I really got started.

I gave up on finding the boy after that, I looked down at myself and realised I had ruined my white dress and I had been running bare foot. I was so muddy and now it was getting really dark out. I made my way back to wear I left my book, bag and shoes. My feet began to get cold, my walking became wobbly. I eventually got to my stuff. I checked my phone. 7 missed calls from my mother. I would usually be home by this time. I called her back and asked her to pick me up, she was panicky on the phone but when I asked why she was so worked up she wouldn't tell me.

She pulled up in front of me when I got to the road, she was red in the face. I got in the car and we drove home.

"You're not going in that forest again."

"What? Why? I'm fine, nothing happened."

"To you, Lacey, nothing happened to you." She paused. "Remember Jenny? From next door?"

"What does she have to do with this?"

"She was killed in there Lace." I was friends with her when we were little, she's a year older than me. She was.

"What? What happened?" I panicked.

"She was found in there last night with-" she stopped.

"With what mum?"

"With her throat slit and her hands cut off." I gagged and began to cry a little. We sat in silence the whole ride home.

I didn't know her that well anymore but it was still just as painful. She was so nice, and popular, everyone was friends with her. She has a boyfriend, no one knew him though. Someone said they saw Jenny with him in the park but that was it.

That night at home I lay in bed just about to drop off, I could hear the leaves crunching outside my window, my bedrooms in the basement so my only windows are high up on the walls. I pull the step ladder from my closet and bring to beneath the window. As I begin to look out I see something move away quickly, it scared me. I couldn't tell what it was but it was right in front of the window. I double check that both windows are locked before I go back to bed. A million thoughts run through my head. Was it a person? Was it Lacey's killer? Was it the boy from the forest? It scares me to think that I could have running from the boy rather than vice versa. I always go in that forest, it could have been me.
