Lexi is mad. Mad because her family was torn apart. Her loved ones scattered to the wind. But Lexi is also heartbroken. Heartbroken because she may never get the chance to be with the one she loves.
Aaron is disappointed. Disappointed because his life turned upside down. All the happy things were shaken from him and now the only thing he has left to hold on to is the knowledge that Lexi loves him.
Lexi is begging. Begging for Aaron to stay.
"But things don't always work out." He says. She knows this is true. She just doesn't want to believe.
"I love you." She says.
"I love you too."

4. Four

When I pull up into the parking lot I close my eyes. Praying that Aaron will be ok. My eyes open and tears fall on my lap as I fiddle with the engagement ring on my finger. My phone buzzes and I grab it from my bag. Chase is calling and of course I answer.

"Hey Lex did Aaron ever show up?"

Tears stream down my face as I struggle to make words come out of my mouth.

"He was in an accident. I’m at the hospital sitting in my car." I hear Chase choke up a bit on the phone.

My vision blurs as more tears come. In my mind I can see Aaron. His brown hair that stuck out at the ends. His tan skin and his deep blue/green eyes. His laugh that could light up a whole room. His amazing kisses. The sound of Chase's voice interrupts my thoughts.

"Oh my god! Lex are you ok? Is Aaron ok?"

"I will be fine. I don’t know about Aaron. It sounded pretty serious." I sniffle.

"I'm gonna head over there. You go take care of Aaron. I'll see you soon. Hang in there Lex."

"Thanks Chase."

I can't wait any longer. I shove my phone in my bag and wipe the tears from my eyes. "Come on Lexi. Pull yourself together"

I open the door and step out into the cool air. The wind is cold and I pull my jacket tighter around my body. I take slow steps towards the entrance. My breathing slow and steady. The big doors slide open revealing a white lobby. People are siting in chairs reading, talking or just sitting there thinking. I make my way up to the big front desk. The lady has her eyes glued to the computer screen and doesn't notice me. I clear my throat and she looks up. "Sorry. How can I help you?" She asks in way too cheerful a mood. "I was called a bit ago saying that my boyfriend had gotten in a serious accident,” I say choking back the tears. "Oh so you must be Lexi" I nod my head. "Right this way".

She leads me down a million halls. A maze that’s never ending. She explains what happened but I can barely hear her. "The car went off the cliff.........Lots of damage".

She finally stops at a door. "This one" She says concerned, slowly opening the door. I try to keep a straight face as I walk into the room. Aaron is lying in the hospital bed. His face bruised and cut. I sit by his bedside and hold his hand too tight. He looks at me and smiles. The nurse leaves the room, giving us some time alone. "Hey" He says weakly. "Shh" I say brushing the hair out of his eyes. "How are you feeling?" I ask stroking his cheek. "Lex If I don't Ma..." I cut him off. "No don’t talk like that. Everything is going to be ok. I love you." I say the tears beginning to run down my cheeks. "Right." He says. "We will live in a big house on top of a hill. And our children.... Our children will be beautiful." I smile. Aaron's eyes are getting watery, he is about to cry. "A boy and a girl." He smiles too. "Yes, a boy and a girl” I say. He smiles again and then goes into a fit of coughing. More tears stream down my cheeks as I realize that this is real. I am still holding Aaron's hand and I squeeze it to let him know that I’m there for him.

Suddenly I get and idea. There's a button on the panel for the patients to press if they ever need anything and a nurse will be there to fulfill their needs. I press this button and the nurse comes in through the doors almost instantly. "I want to get married. Right here. Right now. To this boy that I hold a special place for in my heart. Would you be our witness?" She nods her head and smiles.

I pick up my phone a dial a number. The phone picks up on the other end and I can hear someone clear his or her throat before speaking. "Hello?"
